    refund policy revisted

Since Formula 4 thru 7 endurance and sprints will both be run on Saturday. Let's say you sign up for an endurance and sprints but for unseen circumstance, like a crash, bike gives up the ghost - whatever the case may be. You are unable to make the sprints later in the day. Do you forfiet all entry fees for not being able to make the sprints?

I understand the benefits if running them both on the same day, but the down side is: after a 5 to 6 hr endurance, what do you think the turn out will be for the mini sprints. Thoughts?

    Thanks BOD...

Scott, here is the refund policy for 2004.

    2004 Refund & Cancellation Policy

There will be no refunds for rain or weather provided the race event is not cancelled by the Race Director.

    Pre-Entry Refunds:
Requests made in writing (fax or email) prior to the opening of registration will be refunded in the form of payment equal to 100% of the entry fees, less a $10.00 administrative fee. Refund requests will not be accepted by phone.

    At-Track Refunds:
    A. Endurance & Red River Challenge Refunds - 50% of entry fee refunded
    B. Sprint Refunds
    1. Saturday Requests (for Sunday sprints) - 75% of entry fee refunded
    2. Sunday Requests - 50% of entry fee refunded
    C. Refund Procedure
    1. Bring entry receipt to registration
    2. Fill out Refund Request Form
    3. Make request prior to the end of practice
    D. No Refunds After Practice
    E. No Rain Refunds
    F. Post Entry Fee Non-Refundable
    G. No Refunds Will Be Issued At The Track. All refunds will be made from the CMRA office in the form of the original payment.
    H. Riders who do not claim their entry nor make a proper cancellation will forfeit their entry fees.
    I. Refund requests will not be accepted after the conclusion of the event.

There are no refunds after practice.

A number of people felt that the 2003 refund policy was too strict or unfair or something, so we revised the policy closer to what it had been prior to CCS.

    Nancy,

So in that situation the answer is NO refund for the minis if after endurance they are unable to make the sprints? If I read that right.

Unfortunate for the mini racers. It will be interesting to see how this decision and the double up of endurance and sprints on the same day effect entries in the sprints.

    Thank you,

Scott, the feeling this year was that the CCS refund policy was too strict and unfair...that CMRA's previous policy was better.

Soooo, now we've gone back to the previous policy and it looks like that may not be fair either?

</div></div>I guess it depends on the details. What may seem fair in one instance may not be fair in another.

But if that the is the way it is.. so be it. Just hate to have members loose funds if they sign up for mini (Formula 4-7) endurance races, breakdown (or worse) and then unable to sprint in that same day.

Big bikes have the option if they drop out of sprints on Sunday due to mechanical (or worse) on Saturday and still get a resonable refund. Since they are running on 2 days.

Just pointing it out, that's all.

Thanks to you and the BOD for the great job(s) that you do.
