When I first started racing I always ran 410 because that's my height, but since I came to CMRA someone has always had it so I just took whatever was convenient. Then Jeremy and I started dating and he had to have 75 ( I don't know why) so I picked 71 because it was available, makes swapping parts between our bikes easy, and is easy to make with duck tape.

My number is my Iron Butt Association number. A member gets a three digit number when they have competed and completed in the Iron Butt Rally. I was the 270th rider to complete it.

    12,465 miles in 11 days.

Wedding anniversary, Feb 28. By chance 2/28 is also the wedding anniversary of my parents and my wife's parents... freaky!

I like the Iron Butt idea although I've only done the 2000 miles in 48 hours variety so I have a standard number.

888 Sprint cause its the luckiest number in the orient. That and 323 is what I want (My birthday) but never seem to be able to get.

69 Endurance cause, well, Trey Morris owns the bike and he is #369 and peeling off a 3 we get 69 without buying more stickers. Every dollar counts....

My first ever number was 8, because I was eight years old.

My first road race number was 508, because my dad's road race number was 505.

When I became an expert I was 46, because Rossi (duh).

Then I was 48, because 8 was my first number and 46 was no longer available.

Then I got my pro card and stuck a 1 on the end.

The AMA tried to force me into a two digit number, "Because it looks bad on TV when a three digit number is in the top five", but they wouldn't let me have 48.

I told them if Ben Bostrom could run 155 I could run 481, they didn't like that.

I kept using it because I thought it was funny to see a three digit number on the leader boards and it was quickly becoming a part of me. I also didn't want to keep fighting for a two digit number.

Now it's mine and none of you can have it!
