I have no dog in the fight, but who says Proler is a novice back marker? Have any of you all that say he is (not Proler himself saying it) actually checked results? I looked briefly at some of last year's results, and he was not at the back of the novice pack. In fact, comparing lap times (I looked at Hallet and TWS rounds) his best lap times would have him finishing in front of some experts, not last. And if you put the carrot of a little faster rider up there who has good lines, he might learn a thing or two and be able to pick up time, which I believe is his goal.

I hate to see people putting down someone for trying to make themselves better.

This makes me really sad to read.

I say congratulations to ALL the new experts!

    IMO, bumping yourself takes balls.

I've been called alot of things.... But definitely no one can accuse me of that! Lol

Definitely not. I have even already said that I am not accusing Proler of being a back marker and that he said it himself. Why would I look up his results? I don't care that much.. I simply don't know why someone who claims to be a back marker in novice would want to be an expert.

Although, I will say this. Being an expert is something I think you should have to earn. Yay on you for WANTING to promote your self, but I think you should have to earn a white plate.

But then again, I also think CMRA prematurely bumps people in order to try and fill the expert grids.

Just curious but how would you define or specify "earn" in this context?

In short, consistent top finishing race results.

Different strokes for different folks; neither action is necessarily wrong, just different paths to take.

Just a random thought from Mongo. Your mileage may vary.
    Hehehe!

Spoken like an epic whiner with absolutely no actual information to base his conclusion on.

I am new to this sport and new to you guys and gals. That being said. Is trying to advance in this club and the sport always met with this much resistance? I'm pretty sure we all have a drive to be the best. No one puts them selves into a situation of bodily harm and spend thousands of dollars in time and machinery to be mediocre. Is there a group of riders that you can look up to? Ones that will help someone like me learn? Ones that will actually show you the sport, and how to get better? I can't speak for anyone else, but I just wanted to race, have fun, learn and get better. I have a lot of friends that are looking at me and waiting for me to jump into the CMRA to prove that a noob can do it and there is a group of new friends to be made and have fun in a safe race environment. Just curious. Fell free to tell me to STFU.
