    I hate that! Good way to cause a crash either cuz someone is coming around you and/or you have lesser control of your bike.

    Seen a few do that at Houston and almost get their boot whacked off like that.

    just stay on till you get signaled in..... its endurance,the rider is doing the hardest part of the job at that point... all focus on the track is paramount IMHO
    maybe it should backwards where the pit hita a button and a flashing light comes on at the dashboard..

    That's true but at a lot of tracks this requires standing up to even see the rider. If your doing 250 races that means you are standing for 2 hours just to see him/her go down the straight to make sure they are not tired or there was a mechanical. I think it's better when you don't have to stay standing for so long and you can rest before your stint.
