    As long as the bearings do not have excessive play, re-greasing is sufficient. I also have original bearings on my 2005 as well. As for the dirty wheels, perhaps you can just change out the seals and new caps. That did wonders for my perpetually dirty wheel situation.

    Now they're squeaky clean all the time unless it rains.

    From what I understand you cant replace the bearings on pre 2005.

    The 1-1/16" bearings on the Tie Down Engineering and Dexter axles used by Kendon are definitely replaceable. My 2004 came with the TDE axle, so if there is an issue with not being able to replace bearings on the older Kendons, it is prior to the 2004 MY, at least.
