Participant Accident Medical Insurance Updated Info

    To All CMRA Members:

Here is the update for Participant Accident Medical Insurance. Due to insurance regulations and insurance items the tracks are now requiring of us, Participant Accident Medical insurance is not offered as an opt in. All CMRA members (competition license holders and Associate Members) are included in the coverage. Visiting riders from other organizations who do not pay for a CMRA license are not covered. Because it's a secondary insurance, you can choose to file a claim for an incident or not. *Be sure to review your own primary insurance for coverage and limitations!*

Licenses and Associate Membership fees will go up $10 to help cover the cost of the policy. Coverage information details:

This is for Participant Accident Medical Coverage, limit of $5000 per incident, and would cover incidents at the CMRA event weekend (Friday practice - through Sunday sprints).

    Participant Accident Medical Coverage:
    - $5000 per incident, good for related medical up to 3 years after incident. $100 deductible.
    - File with your primary insurance first, then after they have assigned your benefits and you have the remaining bills, you file a claim directly with our provider. You need to turn in your bills and your EOB (explanation of benefits) from your primary care provider.

    Uninsured Rider Coverage:
-In the event that the rider does not have primary insure, this policy would pay on a 60/40 based co-pay. Rider pays 60% and insurance covers the other 40%.

Also included with this policy is additional Accidental Death/Dismemberment coverage:

    Accidental Death/Dismemberment:
-In the event that an injury results in the loss of a limb or extremity, or even partial loss of use of limb or extremity, this policy will payout up to $5000 per incident based on doctor's review of percentage of loss of use.

-In the event that injury results in a fatality, family is paid out $5000.

Uninsured Rider Coverage for Accidental Death/Dismemberment:
    - Same as above

So it's two separate categories on the same policy for a total of $10,000 (if both are used).

    COVERAGE DESCRIPTION LIMIT

    Accidental Death & Dismemberment - $5,000 LIMIT

    Accident Medical (Excess)
    Deductible $100, Co-Insurance 60% - $5,000 LIMIT

Aggregate Per Covered Accident - $500,000 LIMIT

    Benefit Period - 12 Months

Provided treatment is within 60 Days

Just a reminder that this benefit is available to all of our members. Let me know if you have any questions about how it works.

Do we need to renew the paperwork yearly, or will it just carry over year to year? Thanks for this benefit.

Just re reading this and seeing it is required by tracks for competitors before they can race. Do we know if our 2018 tracks require this ? Not understanding why a track would require this when the payout limits are low and go to the competitor anyway.

And if it’s required, why do out of club racers ie weekend license holders not get covered yet still are permitted to race.

    2018 Update on PAM insurance.

At this time, we have been unable to secure PAM insurance for 2018.

We'll keep you all updated if something changes.
