How many 400s raced in 2018? I think I saw 2. If there are more, cool. If not, I appreciate preparation, but seems risky to structure so specifically. Perhaps the hope is 300s will fill in the gap in the 400 classes til ten, assuming they’re permitted to race up. Otherwise, I’m sure John’s proposal is fine, judging by the response. I’ll race whatever!

So 500SS, 500SB and F3 for the 400's and up. Then ULGP, ESS and ESB for the 300's and down. That makes it fair, both classes have a real shot at winning the class #1.
No big deal for the 15-20 that competed last year, FFS. You've help me make one decision.....

FYI - I know more people that have bought 250's to race next year than 400's

I was speaking in terms of leaving the # of classes the same. If truth be told, 3 classes per bike size would be the most fair. That would add 1 more class for the 250, and 2 more for the 300's. Not sure Walter can fit that much extra in the daily schedule, but it would be nice.

if you have 3 classes were you can run an sbk 300 vs a ss 400 that'd be fair.. Like F3 + Sb500 + ULGP make the ulgp allow for sbk300s. We had grids in expert of 10+ in the 250 class. 250s vs 300s are no comparison.

Actually Jay ran 1:50s on his SS250 at the last round which would have been fast enough to win the ULWGP race. I believe we had some sort of performance committee that was mentioned last year with Jim C and Steve U. Have we consulted them? There's a pretty large performance advantage between all of these bikes. My only problem with the current schedule is there's only one class the ULWGP bikes will be competitive in vs three for the 400 and two for the 250's. All that really needs to happen here is make that F3 class another ULWGP class "opposed to a 400 class" and I believe most people will be happy.
On a side note. There are more ULWGP bikes owned by members of the club than any other bike. If we are screaming about not making any money, why not have three classes for the most owned motorcycle in the club?

Have we already figured out the the Ninja 400 is as fast or faster than the 500’s?
If ULW is going to be a “Premiere Class” from here on out, seems like there should be 2, 2, & 2.

    2 races for 250’s - ESS & ESB
    2 races for 300’s - ULWGP & F3
    2 races for 400/500 - 500SS & 500SB

Can someone enlighten me on whether or not the Ninja 400’s are as fast as the CBR 500’s??

Yes, the 400s are significantly faster than the 500.

The CBR500 is strangely slow. Faster acceleration than R3, but just barely.
