Walter - Is my understanding correct that there will be no more qualifying, even for Formula 1?
And the Track Experience will no longer be a part of the Friday schedule?

I wondered how the KTM 790 was legal for some of the classes Ty raced, and I find it strange an explicit exclusion is in the rulebook. It exceeds the allowable displacement-cylinders-valves combo for Lightweight Twins, Formula 2, and DSS/DSB, does it not? From Wikipedia, it’s a “799 cc (48.8 cu in) liquid cooled eight-valve DOHC engine,” exceeding even the standard allowance for air-cooled twins.
I didn’t ask during the season because I wasn’t racing those classes and wanted more folks racing (wanted Ty racing!)

Josh, It was being tested for those classes and was found to be above the performance index for those classes.

That bike was just too fast for the classes. I was on track with it and not Ty riding, though a skilled racer was on it...I could catch the bike in the corners, but when we hit the straights it just pulled away. I’m sure with more time, that rider would have picked up corner speed and it simply would walk away from most of the field.

We've received a few questions about the allowance for Classic legal machines to ride down one displacement class.
(Example: C Class Classic machines ridding down into D Classes)
With the year cutoff for Classic being raised to 1999 we have been asked if the first generation Yamaha R6 will be allowed to run down into F2, LWT, D Superbike, and D Superstock. The answer is no. The 1999 R6 was a breakthrough machine, with that in mind it would not be appropriate to allow it to compete in the LW classes.
