    FS: 1990 Kawasaki ZR550 ‘Zephyr’

For sale is a 1990 Kawasaki ZR550 ‘Zephyr’. Stock engine with aftermarket exhaust and custom M4 exhaust can. New ‘GPZ-inspired’ red paint and graphics. New Bridgestone trackday-spec tires.

The bike has been completely refurbished from front to back, with new fork seals and fluid, chassis lube, new chain, oil and filter. Engine leakdown test showed less than 8% leakdown in each cylinder. I added the rear service stand spools on the swingarm. The rear stand is not included.

The bike runs and handles very well. The Japanese manufacturers in the 1990s produced these ‘retro superbike’ models with reliable air-cooled engines, oil coolers, electronic ignition and good suspension. The cut-down superbike-style seat is stock as is the tail section.

The bike comes with a bikini-style fairing painted to match, as well as the chrome muffler that came with the aftermarket headers, a service manual, and tool kit.

Clean blue Texas title in my name, registration good through August 2021.

    $3,900

Yes, it's a fun street bike. Would also make a great WERA or AHRMA vintage racer.
