Has the direction of ECR been confirmed? My vote is for CW if not.

    1. No wall on exit to front straight
    2. Finish line further from turn, giving riders more time to slow down after a race to the finish
    3. Finish line closer to the viewing deck at T2/T1 (last turns going CW)
    4. Wider entry to first turn after the start

I haven't been to ECR in ages. IIRC the reason for not CW was the cliff for run off on what would be the exit of T1/2 that direction. Is that resolved?

I would be good either way, that was my first track and I loved it then. Can't wait to get back on it!

    Thanks Walter!!

ECR needs to run the same direction as past years we raced there for multiple reasons. Pit out CW is not safe for endurance racing. I could post up more reasons but for the most part the track is safer when ran CCW.

For ECR as it is now the track itself I believe is safer CW due to coming at the wall on the exit of the last corner going CCW. Run off seems good at all other places both directions. I can't comment on the endurance aspect.

Actually there is one corner that will probably be a s*** show going CW just because it is easy to over cook it. So probably about equal either way.

Either way stoked for ECR it's going to ruin all the other tracks, including the MSR repave, by comparison!

I would say just the opposite. Going CW, you can pull up to the track and then gun it when you see an opening and then roll straight through the exit of T15. Going CCW, you have to come out onto the track, but more blind since you will have to be cranking your head back to look over your shoulder, and then have to crawl through T1 since it is a tight turn, so you will be going slower through T1 than you would be through T15.

With the new pit in/out I think cw is more safe and I can say hands down way more fun! Ecr is so nice now! Not even comparable to last time we raced there. Best track surface in the nation in my opinion.

We will be making another site visit very soon to homologate ECR for CMRA competition. Race direction with be decided at that time.
