Thread: NEW EXPERTS FOR 2022!!

Interesting. What info is used to determine who gets bumped to expert? I was under the impression that we had to request it.

    Mike,
Nearly everyone the request to move to expert will be granted the promotion, there are exceptions of course.
However there are racers that get promoted without request to keep the "cherry picking" down.
The Race director submits a racer index of points, finishes etc and submits it to the advancement committee. The committee reviews the data, discusses and primarily votes on racers deemed qualified for advancement and you were on that list.
If you feel the committe has made an error you can appeal the decision.
Let me know if i can help in any way

All good. If i belong in expert, then i will go there. I just didnt know people got bumped without some championships or requests to be bumped. This will basically be only my second year sprint racing.

Best way to get faster is to race with faster riders

I agree with that. I just hope to see those guys that started in novice and made it through 75% of the experts get bumped too. I know they only race one or 2 tracks a season but they are clearly not novice racers.

When reviewing the standings and making my recommendations I did see a couple of blisteringly fast novice that only raced NOLA and 2 MSRH rounds.
I would like to see the riders at most of the cmra tracks and not just "track" specialists, its a more informed way of judging overall performance.
If a racer is "sandbagging" or way to fast there are mechanisms for them to be moved mid season also.

    NEW EXPERTS FOR 2022!!

Mike, something I look at when thinking whether someone should be expert is their overall race craft, not just speed. You can have some people who arenít the fastest novice, yet very good racers - solid lines, smart moves, etc. They can be an expert.
On the flip side, you could have someone whoís crazy fast and wildly out of control and has more to learn about racing - IMO, thatís someone whoís not yet an expert.

Simply put, being an expert racer isnít all about speed. At least to me.
