Cool ROUND 6 EAGLES CANYON RACEWAY EVENT INFORMATION (UPDATED)

It's been 8 years since the CMRA last visited Eagles Canyon Raceway. In that time since our last race in June 2014 the track changed ownership and has be rebuilt and reconfigured. The new owner has invested a tremendous amount of time and money in improving the entire facility. As our August 5-7 event weekend approaches we'll be posting information about the event here.

Our final homologation inspection is scheduled for June 30th. During this inspection we will be making the final decision on race direction for the event (CW or CCW). We'll also finalize Flag and Marshal posts locations, safety light placement, soft barrier placement (if needed), and test radio communication.

June 30th was the track inspection for ECR, did CMRA determine the direction we will be running? I assume CCW, but just wondering.

Why would you assume CCW? CW pit in/out is much safer for the endurance and no wall on the entrance to the front straight.

Due to a scheduling conflict the final inspection has been rescheduled for July 20.

Reminder, this thread is for information and questions related to the ECR event not debate.

Just curious if there has been any discussion about possibly splitting some some of the large classes (i.e. Expert - Novice) at this event? Being likely this event will bring out retired racers, casual racers, young fast serious guys, slow old guys having fun etc etc might be worth a consideration. Pretty big track that can support large grids but none the less just throwing it out?

A strong PRE-ENTRY turnout would help us make those decisions. The reason being we do not have the ability to split races on raceday. Our race management software doesn't currently give us that option. Running past 5:00pm incurs significant overtime charges at most of our venues. Those overtime charges can be as high as $400 every 15 mins.

Yes you can. Please include a CMRA License Application with the weekend license box selected. Make sure you send the License Application and Pre-entry forms as separate PDFs.

Walter - If you can get your hands on a drone, I would suggest it for getting a picture of the parking area to maybe put out a marked copy to everyone so they will know what to expect / plan. I have seen car orgs neatly park a lot of trailers there, but we don't have the experience there that they have.
