I see a lot of "Thanks" Posts from the folks that ran well and have a lot of sponsors to plug. My wife and I are newly minted Novices. We don't have any sponsors and didn't run particularly well this year. We did have a lot of fun getting out there on the track and trying our best to compete! We really had a good time this year and we wanted to send out a huge Thank You to everyone that has helped us out along the way:
Allan Boyd and Team Robot Devil for giving us the opportunity to race with you. We have had some frustrations for sure but have had so much fun as well. We have a lot of good times ahead of us. Looking forward to next season!
Ken and Jane with RyderHard Racing. Advice, tips, a clip-on, A BIKE! We have really enjoyed hanging out with you two, talking about everything under the sun and sharing rides to the track! Y’all are awesome!
James and JC Camacho. The help, parts and advice you guys gave us at Hallett kept us in the race. Thank you so much for everything. You also gave us a great person to cheer for!
Randy Joy. You always seems to be watching in the background. A quiet word of encouragement, a silent nod and smile. It means a lot, thank you.
Roger Albert. You have been so generous in sharing your knowledge, helping us learn and helping us out with our bikes. Can’t wait to be dueling it out on the track next season on our CBR150s!
Barry Nichols. We have corner worked at 4 events now and Barry has been great. Always on top of things and manages to find time for a quick story. Always thank your corner workers but remember to thank Barry too!
Everyone on the CMRA staff has been great! Every event we have been to has been well run, everyone we have encountered has been friendly and helpful. Walter and Nancy are always on top of things, always busy yet always approachable.
The RideSmart and LSTD staff. Both organizations are top notch. The staff and instructors from both schools have been instrumental in getting us safe enough on the track to be able to race. We will be looking to you to help us get fast enough to win as part of the next steps in our plan.
Everyone. Seriously, everyone. It feels like we have joined a huge family and we love it! Every single person we have encountered has been awesome. When things have gone wrong (we have had a lot of bike issues) people seem to come out of the woodwork to help. Parts, looking at problems, advice, you name it and they show up and lend a hand.
The CMRA kids are great too. All of them have been polite, well mannered, respectful and good sports. We have teenagers who, fortunately, are good kids too. Through them, over the years, we have met our fair share of um ... not so good kids. I have seen none of that, not even a little, from any of the kids or teenagers I have encountered at the track. They can ride their motorcycles pretty well too. As parents, you should be very proud!
And my biggest Thank You goes to one of the littlest people we met. I didn't even get the young man’s name but he gets a HUGE Thank You for doing more to encourage me to get faster than anyone else. We had been walking around the paddock in Hallett during the BBE talking to people and had just gotten back to our canopy. There were two boys there talking to Allan. We sat down and joined the conversation. They were talking about mini endurance and how they remembered passing us. One of them was sitting in *my chair* eating an ice cream. It was all over his hands and face dripping onto his legs and my chair. So we have this little kid that might be 10 or 12 years old, that can't even get his ice cream into his mouth, dripping it into my chair nonchalantly talking about lapping me multiple times. Obviously, I can’t let this little guy be faster than me. So, thank you for making me want to get faster!
We can’t wait to see everyone in February!
