    Josh Hayes 15 years ago!

After seeing Josh this weekend, it was kind of cool to realize he cut/sharpened his teeth with a lot of CMRA racing action.

Here is a good newsletter featuring some names of today...and yesterday.

...AND YES on page two that is Josh with Ty, John Haner, Rick Kirk, and yes me on the picture of the restart. I unforutnately had my pipe break after having a good run, but that was some classic racing!

Here you go for some more then...some dude named Walter Walker I believe won his first race (A Superbike). Also, you can see a young terror by the name of Eric Falt who was just coming off his first 600 Superstock championship.

I have about 30 or 40 newsletters over the past 25 years in "CMRA Archives" on the website.

Great post Marcus. Maybe we could start an archive section on the boards or something?

Yeah, I remember that. If I remember right he hit really hard and dealt with a concussion for awhile on that.

I also remember Cass Cooper and his dad were really good people and he was FAST! I hated it when he got hurt.

I also think if Jim Bishop (a few years later of course) would have had a little more help and luck, we would be reading about him as well as Ben and some of the others now.

LASTLY, Charles (Brothers) and I talked about who was the best mechanic/racer from the CMRA at MSRH this year and we came up with James Schaefer and James Compton as the front runners. Schaefer was tied into Scott Russell's success, and James (Compton) obviously with Jordan Suzuki. I think Barry McMahon would also be in there too (Currently with M4). Ryan Landers would also get honorable mention as he was fast before his crash at Road Atlanta.

This was spoken of years ago when I scanned almost 25 years worth of newsletters, pictures and other stuff I have. Somehow that never took off with finding dedicated CMRA server space and privileges for me to post them. I need to start that conversation again, I suppose.

And MSR Cresson. And then he and his brothers took to riding around in globes of death for a while...
