Holy smokes Chuck. I don't know how long it took to put all that together... but GREAT WORK!
That really puts it all together for me. I see how the decision was made.
Thanks for all your effort.

Steve,

According to the "results" page of this site, the Novice RRC had 27 *entries* with 25 starting. Hallett had 38 entries with 33 starting. Cresson had 21 entries with 13 starting. I wonder why the numbers from the "Results" page differ from yours and how many bikes do we need on the track at one time before safety becomes an issue?

As I said before, I travelled 170 miles to compete in the Novice RRC. Without rain tires, it was not worth the risk to my fellow competitors or me, so I made the decision to not race. Had it continued to rain on Sunday, I feel confident we would have seen a similar reduction in sprint entries as compared to races earlier in the year.

Hey Chuck, by your number of riders (4 EX & 7 AM) entering every RRC race in 04, we actually ought to be KEEPING the RRC.

The RRC average number of riders entering every race is actually a little above average number of sprint riders entering every sprint race in 2004 - (3.25 EX & 3 AM) I'm actually a little shocked at how LOW these numbers are!!

Class - # of Riders entering every race in 2004

A Superstock - 2 EX 1 AM
B Superstock - 3 EX 7 AM
C Superstock - 4 EX 4 AM
D Superstock - 3 EX 3 AM
A Superbike - 5 EX 0 AM
B Superbike - 3 EX 4 AM
C Superbike - 3 EX 5 AM
D Superbike - 2 EX 1 AM
HW Twins - 4 EX 3 AM
LW Twins - 3 EX 4 AM
Formula 1 - 5 EX 1 AM
Formula 2 - 2 EX 3 AM

AVE per race 3.25 EX 3 AM

(ps, I only included classes that have an EX/AM status and classes with a bike that could run the RRC)

Hey Steve,

How many of the experts would have practiced instead of raced in the rain at MSR?
