OK... first I tried my birthday, then my wife's birthday, then each of my 3 kids' birthdays... and they were all taken!

Then I started on other fun numbers... I really wanted 808 because that spells my name on the calculator. "BOB" ;) But... that was taken too.

I finally found a good one that made my wife happy... it's 892 and that's my wedding anniversary. August, 1992... yeah... I'm not a spring chicken. ;)

#221 was always my motocross number as a kid, and 21 in highschool sports. My teammate and friend since childhood is also no. 222 so it works out.

I spent many years riding for Ronnie Lunsford on the NW Honda team and we always had #39 or #1 on the endurance bike. When I 'came out' of retirement in 2014 number 139 was available and it just felt right. Oh....and also wanted to piss off my OLD teammate Greg Abbott who runs #931.

My first number was a derivative of the initials of my niece Shannon Marie Gabel, SMG = 536. Please do not drink/drug and drive. RIP Shannon....

When I started racing with WERA I picked 887 because my football jersey number in college was 87, but i had to have a there digit number. With the CMRA and AHRMA I have been 887, 287 and 487.

Updating for this year... since I finally got the numbers I wanted last year... and the reasoning is in my original post from last year.

In India, I have seen many people seeking number '9999' for their vehicle. There is a high demand for this number than any one else. People who choose this number would be shocked if they know that this number is prone to accidents more often than any other number. Yet, they choose such numbers out of ignorance and misguidance

Waitaminute...sorry, I just can't let this one go...

    so you're saying that:

    1) There is rational, causal reason that '9999' is not just an arbitrary number, but is prone to accidents, and

    2) so people who choose '9999' are ignorant and misguided, because the poor bastrds don't know that 1) above is really a thing.

I can't wait to hear the explanation for 1).
