Formula Smack Results...........
For those who kept up with the smack post, here's the skinny on the weekend activities between Backmarker racing(aka skidmarker) and the Adrenalin Fiends (aka **** friends).
Saturday's 5 hour endurance race started out to be a battle for the ages. Litteraly, with the old man from each team on the bikes for the start. Italian Carlos got a great start and pulled a fast 20 second gap on Esterly in the first five laps. Esterly found his groove and had closed to 4 seconds when Backmarker made thier first pit giving up a lap in the process. J-Dub made short work of getting back on the same lap and Leon Chad gave hot persuit for the duration of the second stint. Backmarker pitted again before the Fiends this time putting Pierson Calahandjob in the seat against Beasley. The Fiends lead increased to four laps by the four hour mark as both teams went through each rider twice. the final hour was the most exciting as the Fiends started to slow with tire wear. Carlos got two laps back on Beasley in the last half hour. The Fiends were on the edge with tire wear and running on fumes while trying to hold off the late charge by Carlos, who was showing that famous Italian genetic speed. In the end the Fiends held on to a two lap margin to win the first round of Formula Smack Endurance.
In Sunday's sprint smack down, the showdown came in the A superbike race with J-Dub and Buck(I'm here to suck) lining it up on the back row for bragging rights, and Esterly playing the bunny on the second row. Turn one saw J-dub's chain fly off ending his hopes before the race got going. Esterly lost a shift lever tip that took him a few laps to figure out. Beasley put his head down going after Esterly and never noticed that neither was a threat, and took the win. A win is a win right? Honda Baby!!!!
B superstock saw another smack match up with Chad, J-Dub, and Buck mixing it up like fat kids over a bag of marsh mellows. J-dub got by on the inside entry to Tombstone as Chad and Beasley struggled to get around Troy Fuller, a worthy contender for Formula Smack himself, should he wish to join the fray. Beasley and Chad were never more than three bike lengths apart, both on the gas using every available part of the track and then some. Chad came out of the Rattlesnake hard on the gas running from Beasley and even made use of the dirt with a Rossi worthy save, never off the throttle. With Fuller providing cover, J-dub finished 6th with Fuller, Beasley, and Chad in close tow. Beasley and Chad finished with identical to the thousandth fast laps.
The Formula one Smack-a-thon saw all contenders on the grid at once. Esterly again had choice grid position, followed by Fuller, Chad, J-Dub,Calahan, and Beasley. Marv took his mighty Gixer to the lead and never looked back, leaving the rest to sort it out. Again it was Fuller as the spoiler as J-Dub Wright was again able to get around leaving Chad and Beasley to figure out 3rd and 4th. At the end Esterly took 4th,J-dub 5th, Fuller 6th, Beasley 8th, and Chad closing the gap in 9th position.
Formula Smack round one, has only opened the can on what should be an exciting rest of the season. All competitors gave thier all and a good time was had by all. My hat off to Leon Chad for keeping me honest and some of the best racing we have both had. Way to step up the game Leon, the series is tied at one each. J-Dub, I won't take the win in ASB as I beat Sherm and not you. He should have noticed you used a clip link and fixed that long ago. That will teach him to Proxy Smack. As for F1, good job and congratulations. Fuller, if you read this jump in, but wear your leathers if you have thin skin. I enjoyed running you down. Marv, slow down you're going to hurt yourself, and the guys at the front don't have as much fun as the mid-pack smack bunch. I'll get you before the season is over. (cough,A superbike, cough)
Round two at Oakhill is right around the corner fellas. No endurance so it will be every smack talker for him or (J-Dub)herself. Better bring the A game, this is going to get uglier than Marv's paint job. Enough kudos fellas, let the round two smack begin..................
Pierson......Get a real bike.
J-Dub........Can you say Rivet Link?
Marv.........is 60+ HP enough to save you?
Chad.........You got lucky once,enjoy it.
Sherman......Two words...moving blanket
And special thanks to Karen "Pit Mama" Esterly for keeping the boys fairly civil and over fed as always. Momma you are the real deal!!!

Great summary Mr. Buck, but one small edit to be made.

Carlos seeing he was out gunned retreated to the pits first giving up a lap in the process. Esterly then put his head down and caught J-Dub passing him as well."

To this comment I say...You don't bring a knife to a gun fight. You bring a gun, and the largest one you have can handle. Sorry your limit is a bone stock Honda 600 RR.
