Re: What do you get from an affiliation?
Eric, your opinions ceased meaning anything when you resigned from the BoD. You had your chances to say something about all this last year (when it was under active discussion during a couple of meetings), and you didn't. Now it's a done deal, and you have to sit on the sidelines and start tossing in grenades (again). I'm tired of your half-baked opinions (haven't you already apologized for them a couple of times?). You haven't been involved at ANY level in the club this year, except for the ONE race you attended, on Sunday as a spectator, at Cresson. You are, however, now working at or for CCS, so your "opinion" is probably somewhat tainted and, therefore, your intentions in resurrecting this thread are suspect.
As always, IMHO!

Re: What do you get from an affiliation?
Eric,
As most know, you and I have strongly disagreed on many items on the BBS regarding affiliation, etc., but thanks for posting that information/questions. There are many good bits of information as well as questions in your post that every CMRA member deserves to know.
“The CMRA is a member owned, non-profit organization. The CMRA is managed by a Board of Directors, who are elected to two-year terms by a vote of the full membership. The CMRA is dedicated to the positive promotion of motorcycle roadracing and the organization of roadracing in the South Central Region of the United States.”
I can’t find anything in that mission statement that corresponds with the response to your thread.
The membership HAS EVERY RIGHT to ask these questions…EVERY MEMBER.

Re: What do you get from an affiliation?
Eric.......
WTF?
Dude, either:
A, really late on the response.
B, tossing grenades.
C, sour grapes.
or
D, paid poop stirrer.
You pick.
The fact is this is a done deal. Most all of the
people I know of and have had ANY discussion with in the club think either it is a good idea or at least is worth trying. When I say most I mean
people who don't post on this BBS and don't get involved in politics, just race.
I deeply and truely respect you as a person and
what your have given of your self to our
sport but the sticker on the registration window at Oak Hill says it best.
No sniveling.
Come out and race with us Eric. But please don't
be a CCS mouth piece.

Re: What do you get from an affiliation?
"Which leads us to the future and the questions that sit out there. Are license fees going to remain the same? Entry fees? Insurance; will medical insurance be dropped as was hinted at previouly due to cost? Purses? Classes? Cross organization compatiablity? compatiablity to existing CMRA built machines? Contingency? Sponsors? we lost a lot this year what happens next year? other affliation? numbers? #1? (un)retired numbers? advertising? championship discounts? "
We did this with what, 9 months before the first race of the new season? We did not do this just a few weeks or months prior to a new season.
Some things are still in the works, but I think there will be some amazement at what will be pulled off.
While I can not confirm everything yet - License fees and entry fees should remain the same. Purses should increase. There will be classes for existing machines. There will be cross organizational compatibility. There may be a national level event and opportunities. Sponsors, and contingency are already being looked into. There will be championship discounts.
