Just to clarify. Ringling Bros. Circus was first sued by HSUS in a suit which ended up going nowhere, because it was proven that the star witness for the HSUS was paid off (illegally) for false testimony.

The reason I posted this to begin with is because I personally have been affected by the "sensational" B.S. the HSUS puts out in its news releases and its campaign for donations. I personally know of the untruths used to get congress to pass the laws that humaniacs write. I personally know of people who have been run out of business by HSUS lawsuits, lawsuits that had no legal basis, only accusations of law breaking, but no proof. I personally know of people that died of heart attacks due to stress placed on them from losing their businesses that they worked for years building, because of HSUS actions. Businesses that did no harm to any US citizen, and there was no reason to stop the operations other than it was what humaniacs wanted. I personally have seen and have had my own constitutional rights ripped out by the roots by humaniac groups including and mostly by the HSUS. My own business and life has been dramatically changed due to unconstitutional laws passed due to the efforts and lobbying (illegal) by the HSUS.

This was posted because it IS personal to me, just as much so as someone's child being born or other personal things posted on this site.

Thanks for not removing the post....and yes you are right we do all need to look past the sensational headlines and look for the truth....I know the truth in this case and I know how the HSUS is (it may have been a fine group when it started, but not anymore), if anyone else wants to research it, by all means do so. I'll stand by my opinion of the HSUS....they are PETA in a 3 piece suit, crazy wacked out humaniacs that don't want anyone to own an animal, which includes the people who own pets and send in donations, while they think the group is going to help some abused kittens and puppies. Humaniacs will kill your animals to keep you from owning them ( I have personal knowledge of this many many times over ), saving animals by killing them is a little bit irrational if you ask me, but that's just me I suppose.

Freedom is at stake....once one group can illegally take your constitutional rights away by congressional approval of their efforts, any other group can also....they all need to be stopped.

The cited lawsuit is NOT a criminal action filed by the Department of Justice, the much more commonly seen and reported application of RICO.

As most of you (should) know, for better or worse under our system of civil justice, almost anybody with money and lawyers can file a civil lawsuit. It may take years for a civil suit to work through the court system to determine if the allegations have merit.

The vast majority of civil actions are settled out of court, often because the cost to defend a point of principle (innocence under the law) can financially destroy the defendant. When settled out of court, we, the public, never really know if the defendant was "guilty" or "innocent."

By filing under RICO, the plaintiff has certainly generated 'news splash' and has likely affected the perception of the uninformed populace about the defendants just by virtue of the name association with the many notorious criminal cases filed under RICO.

Do your part as a citizen to not fall victim to splashy headlines and "press releases" issued by a special interest group. Don't assume guilt until proven, whether in reference to criminal or civil actions. Inform yourself about the statute under which actions are filed and the history of the relationships between the parties in civil actions before you let it affect your perception in regard to the parties on either side.

As Administrator, I have no basis for removing this thread from the CMRA ROADRACING forum. CMRA members can affect how long the post is active by deciding to respond or not.

Hey Chris,

The house is 98% finished and I plan on racing, just not as much as I wish I could.

I had planned on doing more track/ practice days and less races, but my plan was to do Oak Hill practices to save some time and money.....but I guess that's not happening.

I think I'll buy some knobbies for the R1 so I can ride it around my 4-wheeler trail :-)

Will have more time to race come summer time. I thought I saw where you enduranced at TX World, hope it was fun. I'm still interested in riding my bike in endurance if I can get the right people to ride with me.
