No, but you definitely won't feel welcomed.

Yorke, the BOD did not communicate with Walter on how it should have been delivered, I absolutely agree that a phone call and email would have been more prudent.

Steve,
The BOD did not communicate with Walter how they were going to proceed with actions of termination of an employee? I see there was a thread moved to members only, also see the thread explaining forums right to move to private, but why same back and forth ? These reasons are the ones that lead to divisions! I was just commenting as a CMRA licence holder on the BOD,CMRA and Walter on the thoughts or lack of communication when decisions are made that reflect CMRA as a whole! I will stop here just hope for the best and give some reflection on actions that could have been easily avoided. IMO
The private forum is for CMRA members, we do not like our "dirty laundry" as my friend calls it on the main board.
It also allows non members to post or often throw gasoline on a fire.
We can't be responsible for where people start threads only where we feel they belong. We can let this one stay where it is, for the record Walter didn't want the Linz got fired thread moved to the private, section, I asked Nancy to move it.

Not throwing gasoline on a fire , just trying to help put it out, thru communication! Steve never was attacking you just trying to understand the logic.
Jeremy , I know you're not fueling the fire or being combative........

I'm confused, the manner that I communicated to Linz that his services as a contractor were no longer needed was solely my decision. What does this have to do with John Orchard? For the record my preferred method of communication is email. I prefer to have a written record of what is said to insure that there is no confusion. If that's offensive to some then I'm sorry but that's the way I prefer to do business. The email that was sent to Linz was polite and to the point. I have kept quiet about this because I felt that this was between Linz and myself and I will continue to keep the details to myself. I will say that I find it interesting that some of the same people that have complained about Linz are the same people that are rushing to his defense.
I wanted to get to my desk top not my phone for this posting.
Let me take a minute to speak about John Orchard the Board Member.
I was elected to my first term as CMRA President in 2004-2005. Nancy had just been hired at the end of the 2002 season as Club Secretary. The club records she received or "the books" consisted of a check register, check book, a shoe box full of invoices and the club was broke. Brooks Gremmels had just become a member of the BOD and loaned the club money for 2003 track deposits and to help pay the remainder of 2002 bills.Walter had also just replaced the long standing Race Director. This is not a slam against any previous BOD members before this time or any of the previous or current staff.
Brooks, Norm, and other BOD members forged a solid plan for financial health and to run the CMRA as a business and a race organization.
In the next few years the club improved and with the absence of competition flourished. The track day scene had taken off in 2001 and the influx of new members was amazing.
In 2009 John was elected to the BOD for the 2010 season.
John is a very smart person with a fantastic work ethic in business and as a BOD member. He and Jim Dugger pushed financial initiatives common in their professional area of expertise to make the CMRA business work better.
John and Jim worked together to formalize in writing yearly budgets including equipment expense, sales run rates, forecasting, fixed expenses and tracking of all of these metrics with written results. The BOD hired a book keeper at our accountants office and installed quick books to make the data entry easy to export and facilitate profit reports.
Sounds common in most all of our businesses today but 7 years ago John took the time, quite a bit of time to help install these processes. I cannot count how many late night e mails I received from John as he was looking over financial data, the budget or run rates tracking expense to sales. He has worked TIRELESSLY as a BOD member. He was ELECTED by the members to serve this club. I'm 'tooting" his horn as some may say because the club deserves to hear what kind of BOD member he has as currently is.
There are many other BOD members that can attest to John and his ethics and leadership.
And many more can attest to Linz and family's dedication and lost time growing the CMRA! I think Linz has attributed more to the CMRA in many other aspects besides the financial side! He brings safety and members together fro our family! Dumping him is going to cost this club financially now and it is going to start trickling down watch! I'm done, and I know of at least 20 others that are done as well. So I guess Linz being fired will be hurting everything that the BOD's financial plan has worked so hard on! Maybe they should have thought about the guy they were letting go could affect the whole club, and bottom line! I hope we can get a resolution for the club, if not maybe WERA needs to start a WERA Central
It's not always about the bottom line Bryan......
Did my post in any way diminish the contributions made by Linz and his family?
Is this supposed to be a score card of contributions?
And WERA Central, privately owned,, no representation as a member.
