still waiting for some onboard video from one of these races. I know one of you has to be running a GoPro.
We'll be battling for last, but we will win the super heavyweight class.
I'll have everything you need at the track except your numbers (and background). Drop on by when you get in. (Bring a bag for the parts being removed)
Thanks, Deano. I'll bring the drill bits. I can use the help doing this trackside the night before Race 1 on Saturday. First mile will be during the warm up lap. Awesome!
I am going to cut out of work early on Friday and hopefully get there by 3PM. Problem solved. I've got the safety wire and tool that I use on the Beemer. So you've got the extra brake lever guard and Ryan is bringing me a plastic plate that I'll need to get through the weekend with. Thanks, guys.
ya, I'm playing hooky... leaving San Antonio just after 9... should be there about 5.5 hours later (ya, right)
Better increase the minimum weight limit to 225 lbs.
☝️ Fat guy on a little bike.
so, are we doing another roll call? for this saturday? (I'm in!)
With all my gear on, I might make it. Or, try to divide it up, UFC style, into different weight classes.
Different note, but Grom related. Pit Bull needs info on measurements from tip of axle to beginning of axle nut so they can make trailer restraint pins for the Grom. Can you all measure yours and post up? I started a new thread, so as not to derail this one (too much more, anyhow): http://www.cmraracing.com/showthread.php?30310-Grom-Owners!!-Quick-measurement-please-for-Pit-Bull-trailer-restraint-pins&p=293722
Someone has more work to do before Hallett. And by someone, I mean me. 😃

I was looking for this thread, but I didn't want to kill your thunder. Congrats!
I've been looking at all of the add-on's for these sucka's and there's so shortage of things to consider buying!
I just got a killer surprise bonus at work, and Grom look tasty...
I know most of you have already seen this on FB, but I'm going to go ahead and post it here too. :bannana:

For those out there shopping for a Grom we have some available at DFW Honda in Grapevine. Come talk to me I'll get you set up. :burnout:Cell:817-915-5922
The class is steadily growing. I posted this on Facebook, but for the people that aren't on there, here some more incentive to come out and race with us! :D

Bad. ***.
Great job Ryan, I can see these being collector's items!
I feel like the only person without a welder. :headshake:
These look great!
:-( looks like mine won't be out of the shop until after Cresson :-(
I don't know of a better place to post and didnt really want to start a new thread. Walked into my local dealer and they had two shiny grom's sitting there. Immediately I had a poop eating grin and was sitting on it and messing around with everything. My main reason for getting a grom would be the gas mileage as my truck currently costs a small fortune in gas each month. My commute is 20 miles of highway each way. A pit bike/race bike wouldn't be bad either. So a few questions, would you? Can I easily get the grom up to a sustained 65mph and still be race legal?
Thanks
The main thing is the road is 75mph speed limit with people traveling anywhere from 65-85mph. If I could go 65mph then I would be ok with that. If it takes a little while to break in the motor I can take the access road to work and just leave 10 minutes early.
It takes a while to get to 65mph and you have hardly any acceleration once you get past 60mph. You don't want to take these on the highway.
a small uphill can kill your speed quickly... maybe less if you are under a 100lbs... badly @ 250! (mind you, mine is not properly broken in, but coming out of turn 11 @ ECR is the fastest I get on that straight away.... I lose a little speed all the way to the start finish line.
I am 180lbs, I also will always have someone to draft or could just take the surface streets as it wouldn't take me much longer.
Weight doesn't appear to matter on the top end, only how long it takes to get there. You won't have any drive to get out of the way at 50+, so riding a Grom on a highway is suicide. Mine goes 63-64 bone stock on a flat road with no wind. It's great for feeder roads, but not on anything with a 65mph speed limit unless you want to play Frogger.
You will be disappointed if you plan to replace an automobile with a Grom with freeway use.
