Eric, I've seen yours and while longevity is not a problem for me, my partners are slightly younger than you so we need something that will last. Just a suggestion, next time you should use a pressure treated wood dowel.

Yorke - i used the exact same setup (harry's lap timer + iPhone). Now i just get my lap times off the results page ;)

I really like my AIM solo, it is nice to put on predictive lap timing if you have a gopro and re-watch the laps and see where you make up or lose time. Also, the software is pretty easy to use. Normally you just turn it on and go and it all works flawlessly, the only exception so far being it thinks the start finish is right before Rattle Snake going CCW when it is actually before big bend. But, you can change that and it will be correct when going CW.
