If Orchards numbers are correct and nobody seems to be "racing for points and money", why don't we cancel all races and turn it into a LSTD two day practice session?

Lee,
Very few I doubt.
If Sunday's weather would have been rainy all day how many sprint entries would we have had?
I'm not sure I get your point. Inclimate weather will always adversely affect race entries and practice entries.

The whole problem here is how this was handled and the fact that all the reasons are pretty weak.
If LSTD are doing trackdays before most of the race weekends then why is it so important that the club offer even more practice. Sooner or later we've got to do some racen!
Unprofitable-NOT- Do the numbers
Low grid numbers - NOT - more than most sprints
Lack of interest - NOT - Multiple post, most
wanting it kept alive. You all had better get your storys straight before the next race weekend. Its bound to come up at the riders meeting.

I'm not sure what attending Lone Star Track Days has to do with the idea of more available practice time DURING the CMRA race weekend (two entirely different events as far as I am concerned . . . and many racers likely can not afford to do both) . . . more event practice time is awesome!!!!!! The ammount of practice time offered for the last few years has been insufficient to say the least!!!!!!

OK Kelley let's look at it this way.
LSTD events are going to be on Fridays. SOME racers can't take 3 day weekends and our events have smaller groups than CMRA practice. This in no way factors/affects the more practice idea.
The issue of needing more time in the schedule is on Saturdays and it has NOTHING to do with Sprint Racing. PERIOD.
Lack of interest? The message board poll shows 23 have voted to keep the RRC, 8 said no. Not overwhelming responses when you look at the number of CMRA racers currently licensed. Chuck's numbers showcased that less than 12 riders have consistantly entered all of the events this season. That in itself speaks for our decision.
As far as stories straight???? I think we have been pretty clear here!
We need more practice time for the membership. We need a proven money maker to help fill the schedule. OPEN PRACTICE replacing the RRC will fill that void. As far as the riders meeting goes I hope it gets brought up. I'm sure there are just as many CMRA members who will cheer the idea of more open practice than holding the RRC's. I have diligently tried to convey to this message board the reasoning behind the BOD's unanimous decision to drop the RRC races for 2005. How can I make it any clearer?????
