So true Linz. You nailed it. Was trying to figure out what was unique about Brooks and that was it. I met him when Jr. Motard was starting out and he seemed to be very involved in that. I didn't know anything about him away from the track, that he was such a big shot entrepreneur and all. But every time I saw him, he wanted to know how my sin Thomas was doing and how the Jr. Motard thing was working and if there could be any changes to improve it. Most guys who are that successful become extremely self confident, usually to a fault where they don't "need" any help or feedback from others. But not Brooks. He will truly be missed.

Thanks, Linz, for the words I couldn't find.
When I first started helping Nancy in registration Brooks was one of two directors (Norm being the other) who always made it a point to 'make the rounds' of staff at each event to say "Hi ... thanks ... anything we can do to help?..."
One of the most genuine and sincerely caring 'people persons' I've been lucky to know in my life.

There was a time during my BOD days that I was low and could not get any more down about things. Brooks pulled me aside and gave me some very lasting words of encouragement. They have stuck with me since that day and have been applicable outside of the intended context. Even though he may not have known me, nor agreed with me, he was still there when most needed. He had nothing to gain, but that did not matter to him. I will never forget that.

For good or bad, I wouldn't be the CMRA Administrator today without Brooks and Norm pestering the crap out of me in 2002 to leave Formula USA/CCS to run the club.
They
Were
Relentless
Thanks guys!
