Praying for you guys everyday.
Good news Billy, thank you for the update!
Thanks for the update, Billy. Genuine optimism requires my sincere belief that with all the positive support and by virtue of Guillermo A's own tremendous fortitude and strength he will make a full recovery. Nothing but positive thoughts for Pops daily for the next step and all that follow.
Did I hear some really good rumors going around...
Update on Pops:
Yesteday afternoon, they were able to do the operation to fix his collar bone fracture and everything went very well. His blood pressure went down when they gave him the anesthesia but they were able to control it with some medicine and proceeded with repairing the collar bone. Last week he was supposed to have had this down but he developed a little bit of infection on his skin from the road rash, so they postponed it until they were able to see if the infection was going to heal with some dressing and antiobotics and it sure did. He still has a little bit of infection but its healing on its own. The pelvis and hip are also healing up really well and they are optosmistic that he wont need surgery there either so thats also very good. The only thing they might still have to repair is the shoulder blade but they havent informed us on when that will happen. He also has beent taken off the respitory machine so hes breathing on his own now for a couple days. He has been really stable and has been steadily improving every single day.
The best news of all is that Saturday night, he opened his eyes for the first time for a longer period of time and that was the best moment for all of us. Sunday he opened them more and yesterday as well. Pops has thrown in a couple of smiles at us and has been moving his lips a little to try and talk to us but obviously he gets tired really fast. The positive sign is that he is still following commands and he does understang what we are saying to him. He is still being given pain medicine, hes in a lot pain, but hes been fighting hard throught it and has been responding very well. The neuro team talked to us last night and they are very happy with his progress and they feel, with their experience, that he will be ok with rehab and psychical therapy. Still, they cant really give us a prognosis until he fully wakes up and they give him a full assesment, but they say by the way he has been responding and following their commands, he should be doing fine. Its a long road in front of us but we will be supporting him all the way. Once he gets out of the STICU then we, along with the doctors, feel he will get better even faster. Hopefully, that will time will come soon.
That's great to hear!! I think about Pops everyday. I am pulling for him and all you guys as well.
Good to read this Billy. He has been in our minds and prayers since we left from MSHR two weeks ago.... My parents send their best wishes for a full recovery from Monterrey: "Memote" is going to get well, you'll see, he is strong. Said my mom!
Great to hear Billy. Keep pushing Pops.
Great news! I'll keep on praying and please keep us updated
