Had one of the security guards laughing as I road up to the gate... he said "Didn't they have a bigger one?" ya, we chuckled, then he looked at me in disbelief as I told him I sold my 1300cc B-King for the little 125cc beast, and have been having more fun ever since! (My neighbor almost wrecked pulling into the neighborhood behind me today! lol)
Stick a (shift)fork in them, because they're done! The trophies for round seven of the Grom Challenge are ready to go! :D

Coolest trophy ever, just wish I could finish that high. I probably need 9-12 riders to crash out for me to get one.
Since speed is relative, even before starting the motors of your Groms, you are traveling just a bit less than 1,000 MPH relative to the poles of the earth. Add to this, about 66,000-ish MPH relative to the Sun, which is traveling over 480,000-ish MPH relative to the center of our galaxy. In addition to these figures, our galaxy is moving over 1.3 million MPH relative to the "universe". Considering all these interweb facts, your Grom is cooking at over 1.8 million MPH through the universe with the kickstand down.
Ryan Andrews is an AMA badass who also happens to share the mass of a flea. (No offense to fleas.) There's nothing you can bolt onto a Grom legal or otherwise that would bridge the gap when suffering a few tens of pounds weight deficit as long as the lighter rider opens their throttle to the stop, let alone a flea-sized, AMA badass. Short of traveling though a wormhole.. though then you'd probably end up in a parallel universe, meet yourself, and annihilate each other. Figuring each rider weighs around 250lbs.. not really sure how much damage 20 exajoules all at once would do, but 4.78-ish gigatons sounds like a lot. :(
^^^ worst. Post. Ever. Glad you're here Seanzie
I've never met a flea that weighs 150lbs, but I'd like to.
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
I'll bring a weight vest but I'll need help pinning him down and locking it on him, who's with me?
Just race dirty.
You guys won't be worrying about me as soon as you see Conner out there on his Grom!
This class has a serious amount of talent in it now. It's awesome!!
we probably have one round with Conner on stock suspension where we are safeish... afterwards all bets are off... I will be just be riding around for personal bests after that...
Anyone over 200 is SOL permanently on these things. I'm seriously questioning whether I want to dump a bunch of money into my Grom. I can't compete with people half of my size and the 2-3 AMA Pro guys. I'm done venting now. It's still fun.
We obviously need turtle shells, banana peels, and mushrooms.
Dustyn Caudle on stock suspension and stock tires showed up at Cresson never even having seen the track before and raced his Grom for the first time and was only 6 seconds off of Ryan's best... Dustyn is 200+, but, he is a freakin' rider...
my advice would be to quit worrying about weight discrepancies and start riding the bike as hard as you can... that applies for minis and big bikes alike... no excuses...
Bud Johnson won the #1 CMRA overall on a Grom in 2006 with stock suspension and Cheng Shin tires. 3 Times.
They had Grom's in 2006? Awesome. :)
as I recall, bud didn't even have tires... took it on the rims alone...
Wasn't farting for extra top speed also legal back then? I heard it was banned after someone reached 102.3mph at tws while using farts.
Still super per excited to battle it out with dean and proler in the back. For me racing is about fun not winning.
Who was the grom racer that put the gopro on the front fender? How did it turn out? Too shakey or a pretty good placement?
That was me. Looked good (except for the poor performance of the racer). Slight vibration, but you can't tell when you're in motion.
ya, trying to figure out where to mount the cameras on it... might play around with that this weekend... I love the videos that actually show the speedometer!
I'm going to try a chest mount version at TWS.
Post up a video of MSR please? What is the rule about safety wiring and chest mounts?
So i just bought a Grom yesterday, what all do I need to get to be race ready? Or is there somewhere on here that has a list?
The rule book has everything. From what I can tell there is safety wire, front number plate(for sale by cmra at the races), remove headlight and rear fender and tape up taillight. Hopefully someone that has a race prepped bike will speak up.
What are good tire pressures for the tt93's?
All of that and the brake ever guard. That's pretty much it. I didn't remove my rear fender; however, I did remove my entire tail section which is four easy bolts - unless you want to keep your license plate and turn signals on the bike during the race.
Awww yisss, where's the best place to get those bar end brake guards? I've got the woodcraft kind on all my other bikes and I don't want to drop woodcraft clip ons' on my Grom....yet
The cheap ones on Amazon screw right in.
oooh yes, do we need belly pans on the Grom?
Negative. In fact, you can't per CMRA rules. Remove front light assembly (4 bolts), safety wire about 5 bolts, install a number plate, and install a brake level guard and you're all set. Tape up any remaining lights or simply remove the tail second (4 bolts). :)
Awesome, thanks! Have some woes on my LWE bike so I'm excited to get to race something this weekend :D Ready to hop in on this Grom awesomeness!
Is the bar end lever guard a "one size fits all" sorta deal?
Affirmative.
Final question, would any of you gentlemen happen to have an extra brake lever guard that I could buy?
A challenger appears!

Ryan where did you purchase that? My idea was going to look a lot less professional.
