Wow lets just beat this to death and crucify a novice racer.....a child no less for a misunderstanding!? I've seen expert racers do idiotic things in the heat of the moment as well!
Well said Aaron! Now lets bring this train wreak to an end. None of us are perfect. We all make mistakes. Jay Newton is a rising star in the CMRA and I believe that he has a bright future in this sport. He is a young man of few words but his accomplishments on the racetrack speak volumes. He has earned my respect as well as the respect of many others in our paddock. He does not deserve any of the ridicule he has received in this thread. As far as I am concerned this discussion is closed. No harm no foul.

Me too :hail:
So the proper thing to do in this situation is just to continue racing and pit in when they flag you for your stop and go penalty?
I think Jay should've point at the other ride and yelled for the ref to throw a flag for encroachment :)

My hope for anything that is learned from this topic and the unfortunate false-start situation, is that the poor behavior, the profanity, and the outlandish statements, directed at (and right in the face of) Walter Walker (as I was standing about 15' from him when all this went down), don't occur again...
That was very un-cool!
Do tell.
Actually I lost my cool.
My apologies to those that whitnessed my momentary loss of composure. It seems I am human after all.
