Wow Tom, Thanks for the nice positive post there.
Maybe if you tell more people to go race there there would be a better turn out.
Oh wait, this is how you and Keith roll. Im waiting for his positive post next.
Bring a bike and help with the turn out. I did.
Had a great time and i road around the new track and guess what?
A RACE brook out! Woowoo Seems when you get a bunch of racers together they have some fun. Win or loose. Maybe you should try some positive tea this morning?
Times are tough, but i saw lots of smiling people out there and a whole lot waving as people went through the pits.
And Cmra guys did there thing out there.
And Walter drove many hours to get the AIRFENCE and set it up to help out. THANKS WALTER. maybe if WERA and CMRA worked together in the future it may be a better turn out next time.
Id love to see WERA VINTAGE Back full time. Then we can go to the GNFs at a chance for a national title.
So tom in short grow up and have a nice day.

This race should have had a disproportionate amount of CMRA racers as NOLA is fairly close to many CMRA racers. It is a shame that there is an expectation that because a race is run by WERA that CMRA racers wouldn't want to attend.
For MANY, MANY years WERA and CMRA racers raced both in CMRA and WERA events in a very beneficial manner to all. This type of race and turnout was indicative of what should be a strong relationship with a National sanctioning body and the regional sanctioning body/racers.
Walter showed his true colors this race and went the extra mile, becuase he cares about the safety of motorcycle racers, there was a lot of CMRA racers there, and it was the right thing to do. He "iron manned" the drive and it only underscores that this is still about racing, safety, and people collectively working together.
We had a great time. I hope that the racers will realize this is not a CMRA v. WERA issue, etc., but an opportunity for the CMRA, WERA, and the racers to work together for better opportunities and exposure.
The road racing pie is really small right now, trying to cut it into even smaller pieces does no one any good right now.
Marcus
I cant help but both agree and disagree with you Marcus. I see the value in the shared relationship but ultimately, we compete for the same dollar. I see it as a great friendly relationship at this point but if they get any closer or show with more frequency it would concern me.
Sean is a good dude but he is a business man and he will behave like one when the time comes. He takes good care of his boss.
Great job by everybody kicking some WERA tail. Great riding guys.
You know me so well. You never fail to disappoint with some inane comments. Congrats. You're right, I don't promote people to go race at all, it's not what I do.Originally Posted By: steven isenhower

No problem, I'll be waiting for that check from you to have me show up. Please send it in time for the next event so I can save myself the cost of my fuel and entries to Hallett. Oh yeah and tires, I'll need those too along with the hotel expenses.Originally Posted By: steven isenhowerBring a bike and help with the turn out.
I'm glad some of you are able to afford this hobby, I wish I could on more than a rare occasion.

Grown ups are realistic Steven, and the observation about the poor turn out is realistic. I'd guess by the number of entries that WERA lost a lot of money. Even if they got a break on the cost, that track is ultra-expensive to rent. Reality is a bittch.
Sure as the sky is blue, folks are going to want to race NOLA. It's a new track and it's nice, very nice. The pavement is great, the amenities are top-notch, and it's near a cool (to some) place. But I can hear the whining now when the BOD/ Race Director say, "we'd like to, but we just can't afford to do it." Like my 7 year old, there are lots of folks who just can't understand financial responsibility and why money has to be a consideration, no matter how much you want the new toy.
I hope that the WERA event is a poor barometer and that entries for the next club event are over the top.
You have a nice day too.
Congrats to all the CMRA racers who kicked asses in their own way at NOLA; it's noticed. Even you Steven.
well said Marcus. Chris. What i dont understand is the attitude that comes with most of your post. I have been getting it from all sides when i ask about things being fair and wanting to race for what is EARNED on the track, Like the 1 lap and get points.
Case in point Danny running off the track at Cresson and only doing 4 laps. No incentive to get back on and hunt down points by doing all the laps. there was 4 on the grid for the race. Yet we see no child left behind mentality here.
For some reason people think i have no say or my thoughts are not of value. I think i have paid for the value. I pay my money to race just like the rest and have paid over a longer period of time than most. I left CMRA when it left WERA in 99. That means for 9 yrs i only missed 1 race weekend.
I came back to have fun and race for what i earn.
Let me tell you I had fun and didnt have the oh he is here attitude when i showed up this past weekend.
Marcus said it best. But he is a better talker than i am. I call it like i see it. I have went to bat for my main competitor and helped get his points back after a mistake he made. It cost me very much. I can live with that. No one has ever went to bat for me here. If so it feel on deaf ears.
See thats what insults me the most. I can choose where to spend my $. But instead id love to see the CMRA grow and loose that attitude thing.
We as a club should look toward the future and stop this im better than you stuff. Its not healthy for the club or the members.
I have been through all the race directors and board member leadership. Some good some bad.
If we as a club are to grow in this hard times, maybe we should promote a positive message and not this we are better than them mentality.
I love this sport and have been there and done that in it.
Had good days and bad, But i am here!
I would like my fight to be with the track and all the turns not every key board jockey who promotes a negative message on here.
WERA was good for the members of CMRA once before.
We owned WERA once as a state and a club. I ask you one thing.
Just what does CMRA offer us racers as a club now? Beside a place to race and a meeting of like minded racers.
I can get a chance to win a NATIONAL title at WERA in vintage.
Yes i do love competition and look for it and accept it.
Seems like im not the only one wanting to go to the GNFs to try and win a title.
Now politics aside you tell me. I know its not everyone dream or focus and i dont speak for them.
But seeing how you and few do all the speaking for the club and have to get on here and drop a note you tell us.
I am in no way flaming you at a personal level. And anyone who wants to discuss anything can call me direct.
I look forward to hearing from anyone.
So let the rants begin.
Have a nice day.

Tom, Steve, and Chris,
This is a good item to discuss, but maybe on the private board. Fact is, a lot of CMRA racers made it the NOLA (which WERA happened to run) and did good.
Hope this thread stays on point with that, because it was a lot of fun. Had Ty's fuel pump/pressure held up (he was running :44's practice), the CMRA riders would have won the majority of races at the event.
There were absolutely some fast riders and fast bikes from all over the country. I have always told Danny that since he get's to battle against guys like Ty, Derek, and Dustin every weekend, the WERA National would be an "easy weekend". We have some of the best racer's in the country in our club along with some of the hardest tracks to learn.
Running an event like NOLA/WERA underscores two things:
1) Our racers are good
2) Our racers like to race in venues where they can show their racecraft and validate the strength of our club.
Marcus
Congrats to all CMRA'ers that made the trip.
Brandon Altmeyer had a great weekend as did Bobby Davies, Dolph McVicker and Megan Wanat. And Will Boldt, Harold Lambert and Ben.
I had fun too, and I'm glad you had a good weekend Steve.
I hate too see you cry.
glad you could join us Keith!

I may disagree with decisions made by officials now and then, such is life, but going to a WERA race reminds me how well run CMRA races are.
