Race Batteries for Sale!! Check it out!
**Mods: I could not decide which place to post this, so feel free to do what you need to do!**
What's up guys! My name is Matt. I am a newly licensed Prov Nov with the CMRA as of this year! I am going to try to make it to as many races as possible this year and hopefully make many great friends! The purpose of this thread is to help out myself. and my newly found addiction as well as help out fellow racers/riders.
Basically, I am building batteries for your bikes that are superior to standard lead acid units and offering them at a great price in exchange for your sincere feedback and word of mouth advertisement!
THE BATTERIES
I have two available units for sale: a 4-Cell unit and an 8-Cell unit. Both units use a new breed of Nanophosphate technology cells that offer great performance in the harsh abuse environment of motorcycles and racing.
My general recommendation on what pack to use is:
8-cell: any bike larger than 750cc.
,4-cell: any bike 750cc or smaller.
Obviously these are very generic and vague recommendations, so email me with your bike year and model for verification. Some bikes may require different schemes due to specific demands. Also, if you have special circumstances such as separate engine/fuel management or total loss systems, feel free to email me with questions and or requests.
Specifications:
- A123 Nanophosphate technology cells
- Extremely light weight (Under 2 lbs for 8-cell, under 1 lb for 4-cell)
- Fully laser welded cells for incredible impact/vibration resistance!
- 4.6Ah rating (2.3Ah for 4-cell)
- 240 Cold Cranking Amps (120 CCA for 4-cell)*10 second bursts*
- 140 Amp continuous discharge rate (70 for 4-cell)
- 15 Minute fast charge capability at 20 amps (10 amps for 4-cell)
- 45 minute typical charge time at 6 amps (3 amps for 4-cell)
- Charges via motorcycle charging system or any automatic battery charger. Do not charge with non-automatic chargers.
- 8 Gauge flexible wiring
- Rugged, heavy duty quick disconnects
- Gold plated ring terminals with hardware included
- 2" x 2" x 12" foam pad included for install
- 3 month guarantee against defects/workmanship

I am going to be offering these at a much lower price point initially than I intend to in the future. My only stipulation is that I receive your email address and/or phone number upon ordering and receive 100% genuine feedback on the construction, performance, appearance and overall quality of the units, whether good or bad. All criticisms are welcome. If you like it and are happy and well taken care of, please pass along my info and a good word to anyone you think may be interested! I am going to be making changes based on the feedback I receive in order to perfect the product before furthering production so your feedback is VERY important to me. Customer happiness and loyalty are the most important aspects of this venture!
Initial pricing will be:
$150 Shipped for the 8-cell
$95 Shipped for the 4-cell
Shipping will be via 2-3 Day Priority Mail.
Also, since I make these myself, I am open to special requests. Example: If you want an extra plug for your charger or a second bike, I can do that.
For ALL questions and/or sales inquiries, please email me at: matthew.jene@gmail.com
My preferred payment method is PayPal, but email me if you would rather do something else.
I HAVE ONE 8-Cell unit, available for shipment right now!
Production on the next batch will not begin until these are sold and some feedback is received.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Okay, I have had a few more inquireys regarding the batteries, so I am going to copy and paste some FAQs from emails I have exchanged with a few people.
Question: Are these race only batteries?
Answer:Absolutely Not. I call them race batteries because that is what I had in mind when I starting building them, and that is where the real advantages are seen, which is why I am offering them here. However, they are more than capable of handling the demands of a full time street bike.
Question: Will they last a season?
Answer: See, this is the real beauty of these batteries. Unless you damage them, they will last almost indefinitely. After 2000 "deep cycles", they will still retain no less than 80% of their original capacity. They will also lose less than 1% of their total charge per 6 months of storage, so no more battery tenders all season and a new battery EVERY year.
Question: How much does each model weigh?
Answer: The 4-Cell with ALL install hardware weighs 14.4 ounces and the 8-cell with all hardware weighs 25.8 ounces. I am about to update the original post on the CMRA boards with some more weight and installation information.

what are the possible dangers of using the wrong kind of charger or a malfunctioned charging system?

Re: Race Batteries for Sale!! Check it out!
Ryan,
The only risks associated with wrong charging is a ruined battery, as is the case with most all batteries. The only "improper" chargers are those that will not turn off or begin regulation upon reaching full charge. Other than that, these batteries are far superior in every way!

I will be at ECR on Sunday. If anyone wants to check out a pack, shoot me an email with your number and I will be in touch. My bike won't be ready by then, so I'll only be spectating and having a good time.
