Jimmy was a former CMRA member, a former Ridesmart instructor, and an avid motorcyclist.
Above all he was a good friend. He will be missed.
Here’s the story. This makes me sick!
WACO (July 27, 2010)-- Jimmy Milton Summers Jr., 49, of Waco, who was killed early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident, was a Texas A&M University graduate who worked as a master instructor at Texas State Technical College before joining Baylor’s Electronic Library staff in 2008 as a senior academic consultant for faculty research.
He also coached the university’s club hockey team.
“His kind, giving spirit and tremendous talents will certainly be missed by his colleagues and friends at Baylor," said Richard Gerik, director of electronic library client services.
Summers died just after midnight Sunday when the driver of the truck failed to yield right of way at the intersection of W. Lakeshore and Hillcrest Dr. and turned in front of his 2006 Honda 600 motorcycle, which struck the rear portion of the pickup.
Witnesses told officers that after the crash the truck's driver fled the scene, heading south on Hillcrest toward Lake Air Dr.
Waco police said Monday they have found the pickup truck that was involved the accident.
Funeral services for Summers were pending Tuesday.
He’s survived by his parents, a sister and a brother, Baylor said.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the accident to call the Waco Police Department at (254) 750-7500.
If anyone is interested in attending the services this was just posted by his sister.
Tentative funeral arrangements are as follows: (we are finalizing everything today.)
