I blamed Sic at first. It looked like he wasn't gonna make the turn regardless. But after seeing another couple angles, I dunno? I'm not a fan of either rider, but if it weren't for bad luck, Pedrosa would have no luck at all!
Tough to call... I thought Sic left just enough space for Pedrosa to stick it out, but if you watch the onboard footage at the end of this Video, that doesn't appear to be the case.
Looks like Simoncelli is due to be arrested
All I got to say is what comes around goes around. Pay back for Nicky punk! The onboard camera gives a distorted view. Peewee knew he was there and he didn't hold his line, stood it up, and tried to take simoncelli out. And it back fired on him. I thought sic should have been rewarded not given a drive through penalty. But after doing some research I realized all the pit crews were lined up giving Sic hi-fives!
This is couch racing at it's finest! Lol
i don't think pedrosa stood it up on purpose. he tagged the brakes a little harder making the bike stand up. that put him into simoncelli (sp?). it was an aggressive pass by simoncelli but I don't think I would have given him a ride through.
Whether Simoncelli was right or wrong with the pass, he was victim to publicity and media coverage using his own words.
I saw 4 different camera angles and none of them made the pass look clean or made Pedrosa look like he made any mistakes.
+1 this was all Simoncelli's fault he could have passed him cleanly later and had a podium...to go in like that on the outside was sure to take them both out he almost crashed too.Originally Posted By: Tom AndersonWhether Simoncelli was right or wrong with the pass, he was victim to publicity and media coverage using his own words.

Simoncelli is an aggressive rider, remember his days in 250 and the battles he and Barbera had. It was an aggressive pass, especially doing it late and on the outside. That and Stoner getting fined 5000 Euros for punching de Puniet on track during practice made the race weekend interesting.
Simoncelli has been advocating for the minimum weights to be set with rider weight included, something Honda adamantly opposes, probably because they have the two lightest riders, Pedrosa and Stoner. Marco better watch out if he wants to ride one of the Repsol factory Hondas.
As for BS calls, Biaggi got screwed in the 2nd WSB race at Monza. In the lead with 4 seconds and cuts the track, slows a bit re-enters and is given a ride-through penalty.
this motogp race was the best racing they have put out since the 500 days imho.
we just nagg for nagging nowadays.
if it would of being a trackday-like race we'd be nagging about that.
there is no doubt marco is aggressive, just wait for the fireworks when he and rossi go at it.
rossi was doing everything he could not to bust out laghing.
both Jlo and pedrosa bot will be marco push overs before long.
moto gp needs riders like marco i think...
i look forward to the next one, something i hadnt done in a while.

I agree Biaggi was screwed way worse and I don't even like him. Super Sic should have not been penalized for this. Rossi wasn't penalized for taking out Stoner. This was a racing incident IMHO

Pedrosa fail - try this angle or two

Your fail vid fails, Bill.
Wow, that was quick, was just a snippet.
Yea, Dorna must have an army of lawyers watching YouTube all the time with canned "cease and desist" emails ready to go.
Here is Simoncelli's take on it:

pedrosa = weaker on the brakes, not news..........
Hey, if you were a 5' lilliputian overtaken by a 6' titan, you'd freak out too. It's only natural, since he was probably stepped on numerous times growing up.
Good one Sean!
6' ?
isn't he like 6'4" ?
with hair..........
It was still a stupid move on sic. it was clear that pedrosa was fading. he could have passed less aggressively later on.
Pedrosa weighing 110 pounds definitely makes it harder for him to load the front end under braking. I think the return of the liter bikes in MotoGP next year should help level the playing field a bit in terms of acceleration. It should bring back a more point & shoot style of riding which should favor the Americans.
