This is who all the boys have been chasing this season in the AMP PW classes. HOPE ROBINSON, she was voted best improved rider for "05 and has been kicking some major tail the first 4 rounds in '06 on her BBR Honda prepared by Brian Isbell.
We have heard stories of slipping clutches, fouled plugs, wrong gearing and assorted other malfunctions of equipment from some of the boys Crew Chiefs, when their rider got "Smoked by Hope"! I am sure the bike shops sold boxes of performance parts for the PW class bikes this Christmas ! LOL

CMRA RACE CONTROL: Ted VanLaningham handles Race Control at the AMP Indoor races during the Winter Months. Seen here dancing the MacArena, with his granddaughter Mia.
We normally have around 10 riders in each of the PW classes. When you enter we do line ups by luck of the draw, rider pulls a poker chip with a number on it from a bucket. They get one practice session, around 8 laps. Then a qualifying heat race 6 laps, lower draw number has first pick or choice of where they start on the (Grid) in dirt track the start finish line. All others line up by the order they drew from low to high.
http://photos.imageevent.com/ampraci...09-089.BMP.jpg
Finish of the heat race determines their starting line pick for the main event that is 8 laps.
Main Event determines the place the rider finishes in and their trophy awards. Trophies are given at the Registration office immediataly following the completition of each individual race. You do not have to wait until the end of the night to pick up your trophy.

Meet two of the greatest support teams in motorcycle racing history this Saturday, Dan and Vicki Mahony of Mahony Photos. They are celebrated photo professionals, great friends of Motorcycle Dirt Track racing, and two of the nicest people you will ever have he pleasure of meeting.
If you raced in the past few years at an event Dan took photos at, they may have a photo of you in action. Check with Vicki at their table in the pit area to see if they have photos of you.
Please support the photographers, without them we would not have the great history of racing in pictures to share with future generations.

Re: Indoor Short Track Races Sat FEB 11, Purcell, Okla
Bob,
What kind of tires are the kids running? The class rules seem easy enough but are there any limitations, exhaust, carb, etc?? My son's ttr 90 has been bored up to a 110 for the CMRA's f7 class. The bike is really fast and it would anihilate any stock 110 or 90. He has no dirt experience so anihilate might be harsh. I just don't want to show up with a cheater bike. When and where is the next round?
Thanks, Eric
Re: Indoor Short Track Races Sat FEB 11, Purcell, Okla
There is no Stock motorcycle in Dirt Track Racing, as the frame, suspension, wheels and tires are changed on most.
Brian Isbell's two BBR Honda 110's are jets, and have consistently out run KTM 65's and the Polinis.
Engine mods are unlimited in these classes, other than they must use a carburetor, no turbo or superchargers. No Methanol fuel or oxidizers such as propelyne oxide, nitro benzene or Nitros Oxide fuel additives.
Most the four strokes have ported cylinder heads, big cams, heavy valve springs, aftermarket exhaust systems. Most run the stock wheels and tires, but some have dirt track setups. Several have suspension work and different handlebars etc. Two Strokes have not dominated in this division.
We started with a Beginner or B class for riders that were new to the sport. Limited the two strokes to 50cc and 4 strokes up to 110cc. Then we added the A class for more advanced riders, 2 stroke up to 65cc etc.
Most the kids like to run both classes to test their skill levels. Every rider gets a trophy, top three earn larger 1st 2nd 3rd trophies. We keep points in these classes, and they all seem to have a great time.
Several of the Advance riders compete on their four stroke 110cc bikes in the 85 class also.
We focus on a training type class which is fun for the kids, and driving sales of aftermarket parts for the dealers and manufacturers. FMF Racing products and Twin Air are two of our contingency sponsors for the series. So they appreciate us allowing their products to be used on the machines.
