Updated *** Statement regarding DREW LIPPOLT

I'm not even sure where to start.
Just the Subject Line is difficult to write.

My good friend and Team mate Drew Lippolt died today at Oak Hill Raceway...

He suffered severe injuries due to a nasty high side in Turn 4.

The Lippolt family as well as the RELIC RACING family would like to thank Marcus McBain and Chris Kutalek for being there and attempting to administer CPR. Drew died doing what he loved to do and I know in my heart that having Marcus and Chris there helped ease the pain as he left us.

He is survived by his wife Sachi. At this time the family is trying console one another.

I have been fortunate enough to race with Drew for the last year and I would like to say that Drew was an excellent rider as well as an outstanding individual.

I know it is early but I would also like to ask for some help regarding his belongings... They are still at Oak Hill and as soon as I find out what the family wants to do with them I will need some help picking them up and getting them moved.

I just got off the phone with Sachi... She says Thank You very much. She was speachless when I told here how many people have contacted me and were expressing their condolances. Sahci had only attended one event last year @ TWS and did not enfoy coming to events. She knew that Drew had a passion for racing and acutally thanked me for helping him get that passion back after taking some time off... She is not bitter about what he did and recogninzed that Racing was part of what made him who he was.

She is busy coordinating the arrangements and says the funeral will probably be on Wens or Thurs.

I have recently learned that Drew did not have a will nor did he carry Life Insurance. He and Sachi were very young and she will be facing some very hard times. I will be attempting to set up a memorial fund. I'm not sure how to do that so if someone has some ideas please contact me...

I might have to go to Dallas one day this week, probably Wednesday, and will be more than willing to do whatever is necessary. I'll have the big truck so room isn't an issue, just let me know.

Retract that, if you need me to go up there, you got me Brother. Take that off your list, it's taken care of.

There were laughs smiles and alot of fun, until this totally misfortunate incident happened. Drew seemed like a very very nice cat. Prayers and wishes out to all that were close to him.....

This is a very sad event and I'd rather not have to make this post, but let's remember that there are many worse ways to leave this life.

My condolences to Drews family and friends.

This is an update regarding Drew's family. Drew leaves behind a wife of nearly two years, Sachi. I delivered the news of this tragic event to her in person yesterday. There isn't any way for a loved one to accept the sudden, unexpected loss of someone this close. Sachi will need you in your thoughts and prayers over the coming weeks and months.

For now, Sachi is with Drew's extended family. Her family will be arriving here in Austin today.

No arrangements have been made at this point - I will know after 5:00pm today what the service arrangements will be, and update here.

Drew was a good friend, and my endurance teammate. There is bittersweet irony in Drew's passing, he left this life doing something he loved.

My special thanks, and heartfelt outreach to Marcus McBain, who was at the track, and had the strength to deal with this awful situation. Thank you Marcus, for being someone we can count on. I passed on your thoughts to Sachi, which did give her comfort during this terrible time.

Drew and I started racing with the CMRA at the same time, and he was one of my first endurance partners way back in 1992. He was a great guy and a superb individual. He will be dearly missed. My condolences to his wife, family, and friends.

I knew Drew when he was a newbie - it doesn't seem like that long ago. It seems surreal to be hearing this news now. Godspeed, Drew.

Drew and I were registered to endurance race this season on the "new" bike that just arrived on Thursday. I couldn't make it out to Oak Hill with him on Sunday. This is so unbelievable I'm still expecting him to call and tell me how our bike was running on Sunday. It is an understatement to say that Drew will be missed.

Again, thanks to Marcus. My most sincere prayers and condolence to Sachi and his family.

There are no words to express our heartfelt sympathy to the friends and family of Drew. How fortunate you were to have had him in your lives - he must have been a truly special human being to have generated such love, respect and affection. Wish we would have had the opportunity to get to know him.
