A huge thanks to the CMRA staff for having this weekends frigid temp race.
Well done to all involved. A great safe weekend despite the chilly weather. Thank you!!
Chilly? Yeah, it was definitely chilly!
What a fantastic crew!!
Twenty-three race day staff were scheduled to be at OHR this weekend and twenty-three were there. Not a single cancellation and quite a few coming from as far away as Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and southern Texas. Larry even rode there from Houston on his Kawasaki!
I can't say enough about the dedication and hard work of these folks so that our racers could get out there and race. I'm proud to work with each and every one of them. Thanks to all our crew for a great weekend...couldn't have done it without them.
And thanks to all the racers, crew, family and friends who braved the cold and made it a memorable weekend!
I second that! Thanks to the whole CMRA family for putting on a great show and help keep everyone warm!
(And I was about to turn around half-way between DFW & OHR after seeing a horrible crash on I-20... )
I would have to say we have the best club and crew in the country. Super Kudos to the whole crew for outstanding dedication to OUR racing community. CMRA rocks!!!!!

Good job CMRA staff. The weather was cold but not unrideable. Lots thought it should be cancelled but only because they weren't there. Everyone that rode had a good time. To me, the weather made for a more exciting time. Thanks for doing such a great job.
I will say that I'm very glad Walter announced that the racing would be shortened to 5 laps. After about 4.5 laps I couldn't feel the front brake level. I renamed the cool down lap to "the freeze your *** off lap". It was always the worst lap for the cold. I guess because of the adrenaline going away.
It was great being on the road headed home by 4:30.
Yeah, good call Walter! The races were fun and I was originally one of the people that thought it should be cancelled. The CMRA staff made some tough calls this weekend and they all worked out great!!
Thanks!!
Great job by all the CMRA staff. I do have a question. Would this weekend go down as the coldest race weekend in CMRA history.
funny i did the same thing. once i crossed the finish line ohhh 30 seconds after you i couldnt get back to the pits fast enough.Quote:I renamed the cool down lap to "the freeze your *** off lap" [/QB]
I want to thank not only the staff but the entire CMRA family. I brought a friend to his first CMRA event and he was blown away by the professionalism and friendly attitude of the staff AND the other riders. He mentioned that was the most friendly group of people he'd ever encountered. I reminded him it was 27 degrees, he should come back when everyone wasn't huddled inside a trailer trying not to freeze! I asked him if he had found anyone that wasn't open and friendly and he said not a single person blew him off this weekend. THANX TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING CMRA THE BEST CLUB PERIOD!
Big thanks to the CMRA staff for braving the elements and allowing this newbie to complete his first race.
