It's finally gone...

I was able to get off work and swing out for about 2 hours to help move tires... All the rest of the crew worked hard all day... Here are a few shots...

I don't know about that Lunsford though, all he wanted to do all day was move tires. We'd put them next to a wall and he'd want to move them to the other side of the wall. Track mgmt. said they'd move the tires if we just took out the barrier but noooooooo, old Ronnie wanted to move them 40 more feet to the wire fence line.

What a GREAT day we had- It was so nice working with all of you- Did any of you notice that the nasty smell from the stinky water sitting inside of the tires seemed to disappear as the day passed???--could it be that we were one with that smell after bathing in the sloshing tire water????

I wonder if that fat mouse found another home?

This is the best post and best single piece of news I think I have heard in my 8 years of CMRA membership. I'm sorry I couldn't make it out, but I am so thankful for those that did. It is only due to the continued tremendous efforts and drive of many people that it was able to be achieved. You folks that got out there and worked on this may have indirectly saved a life or lives in the future with your hard work. I cannot express my thanks to those who worked, and to those who have been pushing for years to make this come about.

Well, you know there was a method to " most " of the madness. I was all for putting those tires in their final resting place the first time, but that would have been way too easy. They weren't
" ready " for them to go there, then.

TWS management will have to agree, that we showed up in force, did everything and more than they asked us to do, and worked until the job was completed.

We couldn't have accomplished what we did in one day without everyone that donated their time and equipment.

I started operating cranes full time about 8 years ago, and as I sit here aching I realize how out of shape I'm in. Time to start going to the gym!

I was amazed how everything came together. No chiefs, all Indians! We only accomplished what we did through pure team work. It just goes to show you what CAN be done to protect our family in the sport of roadracing.

I enjoyed working with each and everyone of you today! See ya'll in March at NPR.

I will agree with Don Meador. No Chiefs today. Lots of elbows. I stuck around till 8pm working the dirt. Would have stayed longer but the skeeters came looking for my blood. So, will be back at 8am and should have the last of the grade completed in a couple of hours.
