Kit Parts?
All,
I am converting a 1999 CBR 600 F4 to Superbike spec for this year and am looking for HRC kit parts for it. In particluar I am looking for the following:
Ignitor Box
Head Gaskets
Flywheel
Stator
Valves
Clutch Springs
Wiring Harness
The *Mystery Part
Cams
Is my only recourse to go through a Honda dealer or are there other alternatives? I am finding very little information on these parts through web/ebay/etc searches.
Thank you all for your input,
David Durrant

Re: Kit Parts?
Your best bet may be to see if Erion Honda has any parts left laying around. Another source for the HRC black box and wiring harness may be through Harris/UK, or Dan Kyle/Kyle USA.
Lighten/turn the flywheel, mil the head 30 thousands,3 angle valve job on the heads along with a little porting. Good luck, old school Honda 600!!!!!

Re: Kit Parts?
Thank you. I've sent requests off to Erion, Honda North America, my local dealer and a bunch of shops on the west coast that apparently tried the same thing.
I've also been told to get a hold of Mike Valesco, apparently a famous tuner, to search for parts and info. However, all my searches and attempts have yielded nothing. Anyone know how to contact him or who he is?
Thank you all again,
David

Re: Kit Parts?
Thanks to all again,
Part of the reason for looking for the parts is my love for tinkering and rebuilding things. I plan on doing all the work and having a blast doing it. Erion Racing is currently looking into the "Power Up" kit for me. I might cough at the price though - lol.
Joe - no disrespect to anyone, but buying an 03 R6 doesn't guarantee me anything. Very few riders at the amateur level can even ride their bike to the limit of the machine anyway. So a newer bike doesn't mean as much at this level. Like I said, no disrespect. Trust me if we were all as fast as the Facotry guys we'd be racing professionally. I look forward to finding the limits on this old bike (it used to be mine and I know it well). I promise that bike has much more to give than I can probably get from it.
Cheers all,
David
