Hello to all, I just wanted to give an update on my father who many of you know him as Pops. As you all know he was involved in that accident at MSRH with Derek Wagnon. He has been progressing everyday, slowly but still progressing which is all we've been praying for. He has multiple fractures in his left side of his body and has also suffered trauma to his brain. As of Thursday, the ricotta have decided to ween him off the medicine that has had him sedated and he has been able to respond to nurses and doctors commands on moving his arms, hands and legs. He has given us a couple of thumbs up as well which was so awesome to see. The only thing right now is that his blood pressure jumps up really fast when he tries to move so they have told us not to stimulate him too much but the doctors have been really impressed and happy with his progress. He hasn't fully opened his eyes yet but the nurses have told us that now he can hear us when we are talking to him and he he has reacted to some of our voices. If he continues, and he will, they are going to operate him to repair his pelvis and left hip first and then his shoulder blade some days after that. His swelling and pressure in his brain has gone down significantly which also a very positive sign. It's been a waiting game since Sunday bc the doctors have been wanting pops to be completed stable and it looks like pops is doing that. I don't want to go into much more than just because we still have ways to go and we are taking it day by day. The important thing is that he's improving and he's fighting every single day. The poor nurses keep saying " this man is very strong " and in a nutshell that is my dad.
I also want to thank each and every one who has reached out our family and has been to see pops. All the prayers and support shown has definitely helped my dad and also my family and me. It's been really tough this week but seeing all the messages on my brothers FB page and seeing those of you who have visited dad and Derek at hospital has made it easier for our families. I really want to thank everyone for all the love and support you have shown for my dad. It has been really tough to this man I consider my hero in this state but those of you who know him know that he is a very strong man and is fighting to get through this. I know he feels and hears all of your love and support. It's really tough writing this as I'm been crying since I started typing but just please keep him in your prayers and let's continue to fight with him.
