Buell Blasts specific class? Box o Buells

    NOT MINE!

Odd find on CL for a box of Buells. Not for me, but the possibility of buying all these for a spec class would be entertaining. Not because a Blast would be a great platform, but just because...

I have a 40' Shipping container full of Buell Blast 500 Motorcycles. These motorcycles were used by Harley Dealers for their Learn to Ride Program. Most of these never made it out of 2nd gear. All have less than 2000 miles. None currently run. All have been sitting.

Price is $1000 each if you want to cherry pick, $600 each if you take them all. All have titles or MSO's.

I saw the picture and thought "that looks like an MSF class in a box" and it was.

    That's what I saw, too.

I'm actually wondering if the Blast wouldn't fit in well with the Groms.

Ok, sure, the Blast is 500cc, but it's also incredibly heavy and such a smoldering pile. I rode one of these once and couldn't believe what a PoS this thing is. Imagine a detuned, half-a-sportster motor in a wet noodle chassis.

There really isn't enough bad that can be said about it.

The Blast isn't competitive with the other bikes it runs against in the classes where it's allowed. The weight difference, lack of ground clearance and odd size wheels which can't be fitted with race suitable tires are obstacles which can't be overcome. If I didn't have to buy my stepdaughter a car this year I would purchase Bill Syfan's bike and use my Blast as a pit bike. The only reason I'm racing one is the bike was a former MSF machine which was given to me for free and it was an opportunity to learn the tracks and race lines at a slower pace.

Just make sure they have very good belly pans....

I bought one of these for my daughter as a learning bike. When I sold it took the very first offer for it and even delivered the same evening to the guy.

I had one in high school. It was purple and it was rad.

These things wobble, weave, bobble, shake, whip and nae nae when you try to ride them at any speed above MSF course.

Sounds like fun! I suggest a three beer minimum before the start of the Blast Series race. Bikes are limited to second gear with zero mods (no safety wiring either)...to be run at dusk.

    Who's with me!!!!????
