Question Swingarm spool bracket broken on GSXR750: Suggestions?

My left spool bracket on the rear swingarm of my GSXR750 has sheared off.

I was wondering if any of you folks have been in a similar situation and if so... I was wondering what you did to fix it?

I'd like to use my rear spool stand again... but obviously can't right now. If any one has any ideas or fixes... I'm open.

    Thanks!

    Bob

Here's a pic of the right side with the spool bracket in place:

Here's the left side with it broken off:

Contact Mike at Minette Enterprises. He runs an old school hot rod/fabrication shop near 635 and I35E. He can fabricate the piece and weld it on.

Ryan Andrews can also fix it if your local shop can't.
one tip...you can cut down on the total labor charge if the part is wire brushed, then sanded and degreased(preferably with acetone) before you get to the shop.
it will kinda give your guy a head start on the repair work.
it will go faster if you pull the swingarm too. then he can just lay it on the bench and do it in the comfort of a chair.
plan b would be to buy another swingarm. its almost as cheap as an hour of labor at most competent shops.

Buy a used swingarm. You can find one for $50-75 bucks. I have sheared them off before.

Good suggestion...one on there now for $44, free shipping. Depends on your year.

Yeah, eBay or just use the rubber pad brackets with those tabs as the stops, which will keep the swingarm from sliding down the stand.

Get a set of Gilles chain adjustors with the gp lifters and never have to deal with broken spool tabs again.
