Long time CMRA friend Wally Wenzel passed away on January 4th after complications from an illness.
For those who knew him, Wally was member of the club in the 70's and was an early sponsor of Doug Polen's.
I met Wally in the early 90's in professional circles and found the common interest of road racing.
After retiring in the early 00's, he began riding his BMW's all over became quite a fixture at the BMW dealer in North Dallas.
Wally again began frequenting CMRA events usually using them as a starting (or ending) point of some motorcycle adventure. Usually he was shooting pics around the infield, occupying a chair in the GMAN (close to Melissa's cooking) pits or helping with an endurance pit-stop. In later years he shifted to the Idiot pits and made occasional appearances at MSR or TWS.
