From a spectators standpoint...with regards to safety issues. The start is very dramatic and cool, but I could see how a potential collision could easily occur. Not sure many other tracks will be that much different, so...how about two or three cones set-up that you must ride outside of, to help reduce the risk. Many cones would be difficult fro track staff to pick-up, but two or three shouldn't be. Maybe riding the outside of the track was discsussed in a riders meeting about the race. It just seemed that as I was standing by the wall by start jumping Zach B...;), the bikes were coming by, not really close, but were going pretty fast! Just a thought. The particiapants put on a great show, hated to see those crashes in the downhill double left hander with the water seepage...hope you guys are OK. But was a good show for the first race.

It was a bit scketchy when all those bikes funneled out, it's only a matter of time. A lesser angle for the start was suggested that may help, say 25 degrees rather than 45.

I saw the video taken from a rider behind you, You shot across the track for what seemed no reason. What happened? throttle stick or something?

Good thing you weren't hurt any worse than a clavicle with a superman flying stunt like that. How was the bike?

Hats off to everyone in the CMRA who helped make this happen. I know we brainstormed up an idea or two last year, but there was an informal focus group that spent a LOT of time thinking through the details of how to make this new race work! I loved seeing the novelty of the entire activity and everyone having a good time trying something new. Great stuff!!

the new format was alot of fun!
thanks to everyone that made it happen.
i didnt see alot of guys look to the left before taking off,so they may not look behind themselves if we lessen the angle of takeoff. i'd like it to be a subject of discussion with the godfathers though. thats a tough call but guthrie may have a good point. this is definitely the area we need to pay attention to the most.
i plan on doing the rest of them just because it was so much fun.
we set up minimal pits, didnt have to start on brand new tires, the entry fees were priced at a really good value, and i personally got to do practice and race sessions with guys i normally dont race with in other formats. and that helps me keep learning more which keeps me coming back to the track more.
fun stuff and i think the whole idea is progressive and, as we all know, we needed to make some kind of change for saturday anyways.
i hated to see the endurance rounds cut back cuz im an endurance freak but this was a trade ill be glad to make.
