    Turn 6

So I know Walter told us specifically to pay attention there, but I managed to rip off *two* knee pucks on that curbing and give myself a really nasty and sore bruise on my calf where the knee puck was jammed. Hurts like hell.

Is there anything we can do about that very dangerous curbing? I've noticed they smoothed out the curbing into the gravity bowl -- perhaps we can get some of the same in turn 6?

..as well as the curbing(in the kink exiting the horseshoe) that snagged our Brandon Altmeyer.

I'd recommend start doing track walks.

I'm often one of the only racers out there doing them.

I raced for part of a season with Eric Wood (Woodcraft) in NH, and track walks were mandatory.

I schedule an hour on the track before every race weekend. Do it and you'll likely see any track changes or issues.

    David,

I knew they were there and hit it anyway.

    I'm dumb that way.

I went out and looked at the area where Brandon went down and I'm just dumb founded that they would add a human cheese grater to an obvious run off area??? The grooves are at least 1-1/2" deep and about 4" wide. The next left hander has the same brainless curbing as well. I know the motorcycle racers are just an afterthought but really? They tear down a wall but add something that turns a simple low side into a destroyed motorcycle and an unnecessarily injured rider.

That's the curbing that destroyed my RSVR a few years ago and gave my a giant fluid filled bubble on my thigh for a month. They shaved it down after that. I have pictures somewhere...

the curbing that got Brandon has been there for 15+ years per the track. yeah it's rough and I don't like it. Jim the whole reason we told people to watch for it in riders meeting is so you wouldn't hit it.

being there for a long time doesn't mean we can't fix it now. or at least make an effort. can we try to fix that ryan? to me, and im only one member, its completely senseless to have it there.

Agreed. The curbing there sucks. Despite the curbing in T7 being there ever since I've been riding TWS and knowing you're not even supposed to be over the curbing in that turn, I still ripped my SUIT on the curbing there a few weeks ago. Woodcraft slider stayed on, it just ripped the velcro sewn on to the suit!

Sucks, but it seems like TWS doesn't really seem to care. Rumor has it that a rider happened to mention it to someone at TWS and their response was "guess they'll just have to change their line"
