Mike let me give you some advice, stick to racing not spreading rumors. I started this company when you were in elementary school. Good luck with your new track day sponsor and racing next year. Everyone can use a little help.

Its really funny how some people go thru life, long after they are the next big flash in the pan the old guy in the corner with a steady light is still there shining to help others see not blinding everyone.

I've never done a track day with LSTD, but even I'm embarrassed by these attacks on them and their integrity. OMG.

Anyone who thinks there is a ton of money to be made doing trackdays should start up a trackday organization and do it. It's easy. Hire lots of corner workers, instructors, grid personnel, and rent lots and lots of ambulances and a front loader to clear the track quickly of all the wrecked bikes so nobody misses a lap. You can also have a chopper standing by just in case transport is needed. You could charge $80 per rider and give 20% off to pre-registered riders, cmra, wera, motogp and anyone else. If it's so easy to follow all the business plans laid out in this thread you folks would be stupid not to do it. Easy money.

I kind of look at the situation like red flags during a race. Sometimes you benefit from them, and sometimes you don't - law of averages and all. With track days, sometimes they'll go off without a hitch and everybody gets tons of track time. Sometimes not so much. LSTD can't control what people do on the track, but as far as everything else LSTD has within their control, they do an outstanding job. Thanks guys.

Agreed, but the number of ambulances is under their control. I think most riders are very disappointed at the lack for riding time. Lone star puts on a great track day, but it is very frustrating when you get little track time and that is why some are upset.

If I went to a restaurant and my burger came out after waiting for two hours not how I ordered it I wouldn't just sit back and eat it I'd complain. What is the difference here am I not allowed to complain because they sponsor a few races?

Limiting overhead with potential risk to the product is a clear indicator of a business with razor thin margins. Knowing what ambulance services cost, I can easily see how that fee could be the deciding factor on financial failure. Expecting LSTD to shoulder all the risk of low turnout is unreasonable. There is a reason airlines sell more tickets than they have seats. It is financial risk mitigation and sometimes, it does not work out as intended.

Wow! This thread really spiraled out of control! Im a newer novice, but im in the opinion that S@#T happens as well. I was pitted across from the father and son was one of the red flags on Friday. I think i was more concerned for the dad that had to worry about his son being taken to the hospital in an ambulance, and offering my help to him if he needed it, than being more concerned with losing some track time. Ive got 20 years in fire and ems, and so does my wife. I guess we just have a little different train of thought. I ride with several different track day groups, and each have their strong points, yet all have been very helpful and nice to me and my wife. Keep your chin up Steve. Anyway that was my two cents. Sure you have the right to complain. The late order and ****ty food was the employees or ownerships fault not the other customers. I just find it amusing when other riders with affiliations to other groups or their supporters make comments that take a thread and make it personal. AGAIN.....
I want every person that comes to one of our events to have a great day and feel like they got a good value for their money. I will always try to make that happen......
Everyone please keep this thread constructive or keep your mouths shut. If you want drama , there are plenty of track day sponsored forums where you can go and drama yourself to death!
