Thread: Ambulance question with LSTD (Friday practice)

i told my wife about this thread... she rolled her eyes and asked if all the unhappy people would prefer they just not throw the red flags... just swing around your friends that have fallen...

like jesse pointed out, it is going to be a long off season for some of you...

    this prefaces my post perfectly.
I was entering the chicane right as the rider came to a rest in the track and his bike also in the track. I put my hand up and slowed to enter the pits as i knew it was going to be a red flag. Several riders came flying by and up onto the banking at a proximity to the downed rider that made me uncomfortable for his safety. This was the expert group. You guys should know better. At the very least go to the riders meeting, they will explain little things like what to do in case of an on track emergency. I was disappointed I had to miss most of my half day as well but I was very happy to be able to race Sunday. Thanks Steve I had a blast.

Yeah Steve I can imagine he was shaken up. Anyone needing a reality check of how dangerous this sport can be, should have went and looked at that bike by the tech barn. Afterall, this is club racing and not pro. Its about having fun and helping people. I had my very first race Sunday and had a blast, and didnt finish last, and i only started track riding in July! If it weren't for organizations, and people like the ones at LSTD, and T3, i would not have progressed as fast as I have or feel as confident as I do in my riding. So thanks again to everyone who has helped me out, whether youre an individual or part of a track day group!

Haha no kidding!! I made the first two practices as a prov nov, on a 1000, on slicks dodging puddles, while the back tire was breaking loose! It was fun and scary at the same time!!!

Why is everyone making this so personal and ruining what it's all about? What do we all enjoy? Riding/racing.

Can we please move on to something else like what you're going to be for Halloween? Who's with me?

I want every person that comes to one of our events to have a great day and feel like they got a good value for their money. I will always try to make that happen......
Everyone please keep this thread constructive or keep your mouths shut. If you want drama , there are plenty of track day sponsored forums where you can go and drama yourself to death!
Waylon, thanks!!! Michael was very shaken up seeing Jeff laying out there on the track.
Valid point, but ems is in the providers control. I do not pretend to know costs or have any experience running a td but I do know cmra runs two ambulances. It would be very nice to have the same on a practice day. it is a huge advantage to get a lot of seat time on Friday especially for me as a new racer, the first time I had been to tws was at a Friday practice before a race (back in July). That extra seat time helped me a lot! I think I even corner worked for my half day because I am cheap lol.

Not sure if your comments were directed at me but I am in no way attacking you personally if you do feel that way I am very sorry and do not mean it that way. Just frustrated about riding so little on Friday and am voicing a complaint.

At the previous (early-October) TWS event, Steve worked with me through an unexpected personal matter that surfaced that Thursday evening, which I had to handle Friday morning, and miss the full-day that I pre-paid / registered for. I was only able to ride the afternoon, and he credited me back the half-day cost. He didn't have to, and I appreciate the cooperation. Maybe other track day organizations would have done the same, maybe not, it was still something that I appreciate. Thank you Steve.

There are too many drama-llamas around lately, on numerous forums / online venues, who stick their noses into matters that they don't understand, and offer Zero constructive input, or simply really have no business even posting anything!

As Steve asked, let's all try and keep attitudes and emotions out of this, and focus on the goal of having a fun and productive track/race-practice day, that benefits the provider and each rider.
