Thread: I like technology what about you

  1. #41
Greg, not only is this not gonna happen, you're pissing off the Bod and race direction. As stated in my previous posts in another thread(just do a search), I would suggest you keep your mouth shut, throw praise at anyone associated with the board or direction or LSTD(same thing) and just get in line and pay them whatever money they deem necessary you pay. You, nor I, nor anyone outside the inner circle will ever change anything within the circle. This is becoming more and more obvious to me. Not only that, we'll be chastised, black listed, and ridiculed for trying to do so. We are obviously all ignorant of how any of this works and should just be grateful we have such competent and qualified people making these decisions for us.

I'd like to take this time to thank everyone associated with the CMRA(LSTD) for all there efforts and for giving me a place to spend my money and hope they will excuse my ignorance. I hope they know that I am very aware of my lack of abilities and experience and will try to refrain from giving any input or suggest anything because I have no business doing so. I would also like to apologize for any suggestions I may have had in the past or will have in the future. I have no idea how to do anything.
Isn’t is sad how some people’s grip on their lives is so precarious that they’ll embrace any preposterous delusion rather than face an occasional bleak truth?

Patently untrue. Please show me where I have chastised, black listed, or ridiculed anyone. And what does LSTD have to do with anything?

Furthermore, I don't have time to get pissed off. I doubt any of the other Board members or Staff do either.

Pretty soon all of the good people who are prime examples of key leadership are going to hang a big middle finger at the members when asked to be on the BoD.

The club isn't solvent and successful despite all these people's efforts; it's solvent and successful BECAUSE of these people. Ted is a prime example. The guy's email, texts and phone call volume dealing with Club business is incredible and it's not just him from the BoD that gets it. Ted (and others) didn't garner the clear majority of votes from the membership because of some thoughts on what they would try to accomplish if elected, those are just ideas; he got them because of the kind of person and leader he (and the others) are. People who know Ted know that about him, and voted thusly. If you voted for Ted because of a perception of a promise he couldn't possibly make, well, that's sad and unfortunate.

I could totally understand if we didn't have a successful program and years of proven success with our racing series, but all the hostility toward the folks that make it successful? Really?

How are "you" going to handle the same personal work load (of the job that pays your bills) and the expectations of the BoD, plus the perceived expectations of the membership from your glass houses?

Ted, Tom, Walter, other BOD members. Please remember it's the unsilent few voicing such strong opinions. It would be easy to forget that a huge majority of the members are very thankful for you... whether they know it or not.

I'm thankful I get to race 4+ tracks just a few hours from my doorstep! Give me the outdated forms to sign and fax in. I'll be suited up and ready to grid

    Thanks CMRA

No one is attacking Ted, Walter or the BoD. At least I'm not. I'm just perplexed as to why, for a few years, we've had a willing and good standing member perfectly capable to handle all this yet there is an unwillingness to delegate the task. I mean we delegate all other kinds of tasks to volunteers... why not this one? It would have been done by now.

My last word because I love the CMRA and wouldn't want anyone to think otherwise.

In short, because most of the research, development, and hard-to-figure-out solutions have already been done. What remains is developing, updating, and implementing the behind-the-scenes infrastructure for any customer facing registration system to interface with. There is far more to it than capturing data in a website. I hope it will become much clearer as soon as I can get everything outlined.

Getting the website part in place is easy, and it could be in place in a few days (if I had a few days with nothing to do) if that's all we needed. The problem is that only satisfies the racer's convenience, and it simultaneously creates a whole host of issues on the backend (meaning the CMRA office, at-track Registration, the Timing/Scoring system, etc) that are still being worked on. We cannot flip the switch on something that doesn't both satisfy the racer's convenience while also making everything on the backend seamless. We simply cannot add any more workload to the Administrator or Registration staff.

No one is asking for thanks, defense, admonishment, insults, or praise. All we're asking for is patience.

Lol Brian said screw it this morning didn't he, that guy is funny I like him.

I think a lot of you are taking this and flipping it into something completely different. Please let me know where in anything I stated where I said I was not thankful for the work that they have done. Just because a someone has for some kind of improvement and tries to HELP has zero connection to what they do currently. This has nothing to do personally towards Ted or anyone else on the BOD, hell I think out of them all I have only met Ted in person. All this was doing was again showing that outside help was offered for something and I think it is something that should be looked into. Again no where was it stated, "Man Ted needs to do more he isn't helping cmra enough" or "Walter doesn't know what hes doing for not setting thing up" so I do not know where all the defensiveness is coming from.

@Tom , why would good people give the middle finger to members when it comes to being on the BOD. Just like any elected official they are there to do the best for the whole and represent the people. If the people can't voice their thoughts and opinions w/o this "backlash" that you speak of then what is the point of saying anything? No one said it has to be done because at the end of the day it comes down to Walter and the board , but if I can't voice a concern on a message board then I don't know what to say.

It was around 2010 - 2012/13 for pdfs alone to be allowed and not faxes

I will just wait for the online system to be released and hope this thread fades into the darkness so we can see the reactions to everyone once registration catches up to technology.

Again, I have asked in what ways moving from fax/mail/pdf to an online registration system will disrupt the "back-end" process and make things harder? I would like to hear Nancy's unbiased opinion on how much work she has to do with juggling the 3 different mediums of registration vs if it was only 1
