Need Another Excuse to Buy a Grom? TMGP

Well, you can race race your Grom this weekend at the track in Katy in the first round of the TMGP series!

    http://www.tmgps.8k.com/

With your CMRA license you can TMGP. I'll be at Cresson Saturday, but I'm going to try and endurance the Grom Sunday.

Grom was huge fun on the mini track at MSRH. Can't wait to put one on a cart track!

My sweet Dawn bought the second to the last Grom in Waco at Bargers today. There is one Grom left. Waiting. For you! In the meantime, Ryan Andrews is prepping mine for racing. It's not going to get nitrous. Promise.

I was told a TMGP license costs $35. Maybe I'm missing something though.

    Don't forget your transponder!

I realized after I typed the thing about the transponder that it was sort of a pun. No pun was intended. Lol!

No nitrous, just a Takegawa supercharger.

I'm planning on going to Katy for the sprints at least. I may stick around for Sunday. We'll see!

You may be right and we may need to pay that fee. I think the CMRA license may just mean that we are qualified to race in their organization without going through their school, etc..

yes that is correct there is still the lic fee I think it is $35 like Ryan said. it just means you opt out of having to take the riders class and test. sprints are on Saturday and endurance is sunday this is flip flopped from normal schedule just for those who find this thread later in the year. The grom class will be pretty sweet this year I think there might be a few more of the TMGP guys who will bring them out for sprints I know there was a lot of talk of getting them in the off season. They said if 3 or more show up they will have their own class. Ryan cheats his has a GSXR1000 motor in it lol. Ill be out there all day sprinting my KX65 and if the weather holds up ill endurance the 65 sunday.

The hard part was making it sound like a single.

I'm interested to see how the Grom's will stack up to the KX65s. Grom's are 225lbs and about 8hp, so I don't think they'll have much for a KX. Lol!

What should make it interesting is the fuel mileage. If a Grom can do longer stints and require less fuel stops it might do really well in an endurance race.

This weekend I learned that a Grom on a kart track is a big time giggle fest. :D
