I did indeed read the rule book, I missed that part. Since I'm not a prov nov I kind of ignore that section. Got it now!! Thanks all.

Minimum of two races on two separate weekends. A minimum of two 20-minute stints during an endurance race would count as the two races per weekend. Or a Prov Nov could use the time that they have in the yellow shirt shield to get some race experience and not try to rush out of it.

I've encouraged them to run the full 2hours they have. This is more of a financial decision. LWE still the best time for your money.

Well 2 sprints is 20-30 minutes of seat time in a race? Or the endurance is 2 hrs of seat time in a race. Nancy thanks for the clarification, I am excited to finally start my long career of competing for last place.

I just finished my prov nov in April.

You have to do two stints two different weekends. You can either do that by doing two sprint races each weekend, one sprint race and one twenty minute stint during endurance (or more if you want), or just use endurance and do a twenty minute stint during the race, change riders, get back on at some point for a minimum of twenty minutes again. They are basically mimicking what any racer would do even if they weren't endurance riders because then they'd have to sign up for two races for two weekends...and those are about twenty minutes each also.

If using endurance to qualify, make sure that before you started your first stint you tell Sandra (or whoever is running the clipboard) that you expect to go next. Once you're off the bike, report to her again that you just finished. They document you based on your rider CMRA number, no names. So, make sure you tell the number correctly. (BTW, our teammates were helping each other our and since hot and tired, were telling Sandra for each other. I messed up Rodrigo's number and gave his race number as his month and birth when it's really his month and year (672). Guy doing paper work gave me a bit of a hassle, but signed off after all, advising that we should have done it ourselves, reporting ourselves as riders. :/

You need to also sign up for 2 corner working days for CMRA events (not sure if it has be to be race or can be a Friday practice day?). You can also volunteer to do the air fence on the same day and you can then just do the one CW and air fence and you're done, no need to do a second day. I'd suggest doing air fence at TWS since they use the least there. ;) (I wound up doing it at MSRH, probably only took two hours. You help deflate, using a fan, the air fence then fold them and package them. Someone is there guiding you the whole time, Ryan I think?).

This is all spelled out in my post in the CMRA Announcements section: http://www.cmraracing.com/showthread...sing-Procedure

The exact same information should be in the School Handbook provided by each track day organization that teaches the Licensing School.

Yes, it is. But some people find it helpful to hear it differently. You're used to this, we're not. And it's a little scary to screw up. ;)

You just gotta screw up more often until it feels natural. When you get as advanced as I am, you'll be able to screw up 3-4 times a race w/e with no hesitation.

As easy as falling off a bike. Literally.

This, I'm always cautious of the unknown and like knowing with an absolute certainty that I've got the right idea. Which is why I am so grateful for this forum and all the awesome racers I've met that have helped me a long the way.
