Derrick Thomas....linebaker out of Alabama(mid-late 80's), I believe, played for KC if I'm not mistaken. Car crash broke his neck and left him paralyzed. He eventually died(may he R.I.P) due to pulmonary complication r/t his paralysis. I think this is close to actual events, but I'm not googling it.

Guess I should have looked at the previous post. I forgot how good this guy was....freaking stud!
