CBR500 - are case covers required?

Are case covers required on the CBR500R ?

My eyes are swimming after reading the rule book looking for the answer

Page 16, paragraph d) doesn't list the CBR500 in the case cover list but it is at discretion of the tech inspector….so i must ask.
