2014-2017 Election Results

On behalf of the CMRA membership, I'd like to thank everyone who stepped up to run for the Board of Directors. It is a (mostly thankless) volunteer position that requires a lot of personal time and sacrifice by those who take on the job. Congratulations to Bill and Joe and many thanks again to those who ran.

The ballots have been counted and recounted and the results are in:

Bill Syfan – 110

Joe Caruso – 109

Shandra Crawford – 80

Peyton Inge – 64

Harry Tomlinson – 64

Brandon Cleland – 41

Pete Martins – 30

648 CMRA members were eligible to vote and 257 ballots were received. Of those 257, only 253 were counted. Of the 4 which were not counted, (1) no printed name or signature, (1) printed name and signature were indecipherable, (1) postmarked after October 31st deadline, (1) voted for more than two candidates. Thanks again to all who took a few minutes to vote for the folks who will be helping to direct the CMRA into the future.

Bill is returning to the Board of Directors for the second time. He was served on the Board for two years from 2011-2012. Joe is a first time member on the Board of Directors. They will be joining our current Board members: Danny Dominguez, Jim Dugger, Eric Falt, Ted Phillips, and Steve McNamara. Ty Howard and John Orchard will be leaving the Board at the end of 2014 and we would like to sincerely thank them both for their many years of commitment and contributions to the betterment of the CMRA. They have been, and will continue to be, valuable assets to the club in many areas. The club has grown bigger and stronger thanks to their hard work during their terms. Norm McDonald has graciously agreed to continue on as the CMRA Treasurer in 2015.

The newly elected members will join the current members at the next Board of Directors meeting held earlier in the day prior to the Awards Party on December 13, 2014. All CMRA members are invited to attend the Open Membership Meeting from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Downtown 301 Event Center. The Board of Directors will be there to answer any questions the membership may have.

Interesting results! Highest turnout in CMRA history, three counted ballots ahead of last season. Last year, there were 102 single-ballot votes.

This year, there were 8.

Congrats to the winners. Joe, it's great to see some fresh blood on the board.

Thanks to everyone who voted and thank you to everyone who voted for me. It was a great group of candidates and I'm honored to be chosen from among them. I look forward to working with both the board and our club members to sustain and grow our club. Thanks again! It really is an honor to be chosen.
